the last film you watched thread

A man finds meaning in disreputable work. Departures (2008).

I saw "The Rewrite" (2014) which had Hugh Grant as a burnt-out Hollywood screenwriter who reluctantly takes a writing professorship job. Same director as the previous Hugh Grant films "Music and Lyrics" and "Two Weeks Notice".

I'm not especially a fan of those prior Hugh Grant movies (or of him himself) but I thought "The Rewrite" might provide a bit of biting satire about Hollywood pretension and the screenwriters life. It did this a little, although something like "Episodes" or "Entourage" gets it sharper/better.

Fun enough a watch especially if it's a rainy day. Decent supporting work by Marisa Tomei, Allison Janney as a snobby literature professor and Whiplash's J.K. Simmons as a department head.

Abduction received only a 22 score on metacritic but Tracers has a 45 (currently) rating.

I saw Abduction, and although it wasn't great, I thought it wasn't too bad. Of course I enjoyed watching TL!!!

I wish TL luck with Tracers.

Anyway, even though I'm not a musicals person, the last movie I saw was...

This past Monday I saw "Woman in Gold" starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds. It is based on a true story about a woman who's family was killed during the Holocaust and the Austrian Government took her family's belongings, consisting of several paintings by the famous artist Klimt. Her Aunt posed for the painting.

The painting was considered the Mona Lisa of Austria.

It was a great movie and performance by Helen Mirren. If you have not seen it check it out. If you saw it, what did you think of the movie and Helen Mirren's performance?

last night I saw "The Longest Ride" starring Scott Eastwood. It is based on a Nicholas Spark's novel. Very good movie. Very touching and emotional scenes. Scott Eastwood is hot! We get to see a brief glimpse of his naked ass in a shower scene.

Check out this movie if you like romantic and touching movies!

I finally watched Gone Girl. Better than I expected; it always kept me guessing what was actually happening. Although eventually by end the nonstop twists were starting to borderline on being silly. And the ending was basically absent, it just ended with a big question mark. So that kind of urked me. But the rest of the movie was always gripping.

I had seen the movie when it first came out. I was also disappointed with the ending. It just left you hanging. The movie was definitely a gripping story.

Sound Of Music

It was at a Fathom event near a Theater around us. This was my first time seeing and I really enjoyed it. I have to say I was really floored when it came to the cinematography, such a beautiful film.
