the last film you watched thread

Skull Island - was a lot of fun, really good special effects.
Beauty and the Beast - real camp when it needed to be, pretty, the songs were done well and I liked the new songs. I am glad that at least Disney is not half assing these real life remakes.

Last night I saw "Going in Style" starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin, and Ann Margaret.

It was a funny movie. I remember watching the original movie in 1979 starring George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg.
I did not think this updated version would hold up as good as the original but it did.

Check it out!

I just watched "Harry Brown" for the first time last night. I haven't been to a movie theater since the late 1970s. I hear it has changed a bit since then.

I have seen, in the last week, Arrival and Split. Two very different films. Arrival is a very thought provoking film with a terrific Amy Adams. It is a film you really have to pay attention to grasp the film and it was a surprise to me. I would watch it again .

Split is about a man with 23 troubling personalities and possible a 24th. At the very beginning of the film 3 young girls are kidnapped by the stronger of the personalities. Betty Buckley plays the psychiatrist who is treating the man.

James McAvoy stars.

"Life"

Okay I enjoyed it but even so hate these films where things happen that are completely illogical; how can a multicellular being survive in deep space?

Split should have won the awards this year. What a performance put on by McAvoy. So much better than that snooze fest of Moonlight.

Fifty Shades Darker - I liked #2 a bit more than #1. Sorry guys, but Dakota Johnson is captivating.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2 - Awesome movie! Funny and interesting. Glad it was released here early!
