the last film you watched thread

Broken Hearts Club- Despite some stereotypical gay characters and a Queer as Folk-esque plot, I think the (mostly straight) cast really came through to make this a pretty good, and funny, film.

I tried watching two low budget queer films: Socket and Pornography. Both were pretty atrocious.

Word Is Out: Stories of Some of Our Lives- This is a 1977 documentary featuring interviews of two dozen people about being and growing up gay in America. I thought it was great.

Casino Royale...one more and we're done

Winter's Bone. It was ok. Not sure why people think it deserves to be an Oscar nominee for best picture though. I guess Hollywood elitists are into movies about the lives of meth-cooking hillbillies.

Personally, I think it's one of the best films of the year. Excellent peformances by Jennifer Lawrence, John Hawkes, Dale Dickey, and the entire cast.

The King's Speech. Excellent film, and Colin Firth was nothing short of brilliant as the stammering, reluctant king.

Everybody agrees that The Human Centipede is a piece of crap and not worth watching, yet watches it anyway. I'm like everybody. It's a piece of crap and I watched it nonetheless.

Such futility.

I saw The Kings Speech and Black Swan recently. Both were excellent!

Quantum of Solace, we have finished watching all of the Bond films

1964's Onibaba. Hunger competes desperately against desire in a wretched sea of bamboo.

The Machinist.

I was initially drawn to the movie due to seeing a picture of Christian Bale weighing 121lbs. I'd link the picture, but I'm not allowed to post links yet :) But google "the many bodies of Christian Bale" and you'll find it.

The movie was all right I guess, the most interesting part in the story was the hallucinations and how they eventually started to fall apart.

Shelter (again). But the last new movie was It's Kind of a Funny Story. It was actually really good, though I could have done without the projectile vomit...

"Wild Hearts Can't be Broken" - one of my favorite old time movies.. I think i was 7 yrs. old when i first watched this movie. ..|

I guess some of the acting was good (Chace Crawford), but overall, kind of depressing and dull. It got only a 4/100 rating on Rotten Tomatoes (movie review site).
