the last film you watched thread

I'm a huge horror geek and this is honestly one of the scariest and well-acted films I've seen. This is the original (NOT the shitty remake).

Lucy, save yourself the time, and don't. Bloody awful.

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies in 3D. I loved it... a fitting end.
I enjoyed Lady Galadriel and Sauroman kicking ass and taking names in the flick... I do wish that we could have seen Sauroman's turn to evil. I hope it turns up in the Extended Edition release at some point.

Exodus: Gods and Kings. I enjoyed bits and pieces of this flick... but it felt a bit strange.
The one sequence that should be awesome... isn't!
I'm talking about the parting of the red sea... felt very anti-climactic. Moses and Ramses are supermen, those crashing waters would have killed them.
The plagues are suitably well done but I felt the highlight was the bringer (angel) of death sequence. I enjoyed that bit very much, somewhat creepy.

Saving Mr Banks, Emma Thompson was robbed, she should have won the Oscar. The scene were PL Travers watches the movie of Mary Poppins at the Premier is a sheer masterclass in understated performance. The emotion she conveyed in that one scene was utterly breathtaking.

Fargo, which I haven´t seen before. Loved it!

Big bad wolves, which must be Tarantino being bored. Really, his worst movie.

Midnight Express on blu-ray.

I really enjoyed the film despite how disparaging it comes across with regards to foreign countries and their laws and practices.
That Brad Davis was quite a unique looking man, those eyes and that chest hmm mmm... :)

Fargo, which I haven´t seen before. Loved it!

Check out the recent "Fargo" series if you want some "inspired by" content!

For me, tonight watched a grown-up Haley Joel Osment in "Sex Ed". Not great - an "American Pie" gross-out knock-off that seems to frequently think its funnier than it actually is, though some of the performances were decent.

Atlantis The Lost Empire

I don't remember if I saw this movie was I was younger, but watching it now I was impressed with the animation. Not the best of Disney movies but definitely worth a watch for a decent action/adventure movie.
