** The Offical 2008 MLB Thead!!! **

I love Jason but he's not having a very good year so far....GL is happy, though.(warily inserts wink wink smilie)

Pissed off myself about our loss to Atlanta tonight.Fucking Pelfrey is going backward and can't trust any reliever but Wagner!:grrr:

What I don't understand is that we are paying Izzy over $10 million per year to get three fucking outs. Make it happen you little bitch.

:mad::mad:

I am SO PISSED right now. Especially, when people say "Don't tax the closer!"

Seriously?!?!?

THREE OUTS!!!! You're a glorified relief pitcher!!

:grrr:

Believe me,Mets fans know of what you speak.A few years back Braden Looper was turning the ninth inning into hisd own personal adventureland, and Armando Benitez before that.Since we got Wagner,we've been disappointed more times than we count as well.He was totally in and out his first year, started great last year but sputtered when it counted, and this year he's been the only consistent one but I'm not banking on it.Too bad when they guarantee the money, the same does not go for the performance.

Wagner had been on fire so fire this season. I agree with you about his past record, he can be scarey. He started pitching with a full wind up again this year and it works for him; he is pitching better than with the stretch. Of course he kills with that fastball, 98 MPH! . We gotta remember his 350+ career saves, including his 5th of the year against the Braves today. He has not given up a single hit this year, todays game makes that in 9 innings, so I guess you could call that a no hitter. :=D:

Well, that's a stretch sonny!;)Glad they won today, really pissed about last night.Maine was decent but he needs to go further into the game.I'm happy that Carlos Beltran had a big contribution today,at least we have one Carlos who is showing signs of being useful.Any time they beat the Braves especially,I'm happy and Wagner did his part again today...though the bullpen and certain people I'm sick of pulling my hair out over in particular still make me nervous at bet.

Glad the Cards won for Abs,and Wainwright got a complete game victory. Those are always good for the club but in this age of specialized roles such a rarity.Toronto just activated Scott Rolen, and they have David Eckstein too(I read he so much thought the Mets would come after him, would have loved to have played here but unfortunately they didn't like his price tag)so I guess Toronto is the AL team Abs checks up on,;)but I still like the Yanks there(not too happy about their mediocrity in the standings as of now)and hope for better things as the summer heats up!

Well, I apologize in advance if I am not myself this weekend.

The dreaded and hated Chicago Cubs are coming to town this weekend for the first time. The Cards are in first place by 1/2 a game after the Cubs blew it on Thursday. Oh, how I could watch the top of the ninth of that game over and over and over.... :p

Anywho, let's hope for an interesting series this weekend! (!w!)

GO CARDS!

:D

13-1 to Pittsburgh last night. That's all I can say as I am see--eee-thing!:mad:Oliver Perez can go free agent after this season with his nutjob snake oil salesman Scott Boras(Barry Zito says prayers to him EVERY night)he is so undeserving of top level starter dollars...and he has such horrible control!

Billy Wagner was right ripping the play and lack of heart of many of the players(Abs,if you get a chance look at the Thursday online version of the Daily News...tells everyone why the Mets deservedly are catching flack from their fans)This team is playing like crap against the teams it has to dominate to win the division.Damn could use Xavier Nady back(God,he's hot too)!

You know the Cubs will do the el-foldo like they always do....somehow,someway the Cubs will fuck themselves up(and crush the hearts of their fans, poor schmucks, yet again)!

I love the way the Cards are playing.....given no shot to compete(How in such a crappy division I will never understand)they are overachieving and as long as Pujols stays healthy(and I'm well aware of his bum elbow which could blow out at any time)and Troy Glaus contributes power that will be a good enough lineup.Kyle Lohse is pitching unbelievably well, never expected that. But the Cardinals make the effort and take nothing for granted while the Mets expect to waltz out of the season with a title, and you have to earn it on the field.

Rant over...for now!;)

Sam,are you now or have you ever been a Cubs fan?

But yeah. I can't wait til they kick some Cardinal bootay tomorrow nite! **wars**
This could be fun!I ain't sayin' another bird..er,word.:corn:

i'm just glad you didn't have another blowup over Jason Isringhausen:eek:....Ron Villone picked him up really well.Glad for the Cards win.....I so want them to face the Mets again in vengeance over 2006.

Schumaker's turning out to be a pretty good little player.Yep,he's hot too.:gogirl:

I am so happy over the Mets smacking of Arizona tonight.John Maine and the bullpen were excellent in the 7-2 victory and the top of the lineup just went off...Jose Reyes almost had the cycle(single, double, two triples including his last hit, which he unsuccessfully tried to stretch into an inside the park home run.He hit that ball dead center 400 feet! What a treat to see him running out triples!Ryan Church and David Wright:luv:had multi-hit games and both hit home runs. Why can't they have a stretch of just playing good ball like this....I hate having to pull at my hair as much as I have this season.

That's what we say when someone wins a race based on fuel mileage. As a way of, ya know, making them feel better for grabbing a win when someone else should be in Victory Lane.

:p :p
What are the standings tonight?....I rest my case.:p

Oh,so that's why you were so quiet.....

I saw the last inning and just wanted Izzy to set 'em down, which he did!

And the Mets won 2 out of 3 as well from Arizona, big thanks to Ryan Church gunning out Chris Burke at third after Feliciano made a horribly ill-advised throw to prevent an infield hit in the eighth inning.

Cards win,Mets win,all's right again in MLB!:gogirl:

Tough noogies,Sam!:p

Though I miss sonny....damn let's get the Sports Forum back!
