** The Offical 2008 MLB Thead!!! **

With Hideki Matsui facing season ending knee surgery and Johnny Damon's setback in his recovery from a shoulder injury, rumors are out there about Barry Bonds being signed up. Please, are they kidding? With his drama, legal troubles and wobbly knees why would the Yankees want him. Don't they have enough with A-Rod and his antics. I don't think Jetter could stand another primadonna in the clubhouse. But better them then the Mets I guess.

Maybe if Bonds showed up at the Yankee office looking like this
he might get the job

Here's a little diddy about Kyle Lohse:

- Wasn't picked until late in March because everyone thought he was washed up
- Dave Duncun, the pitching coach god, comes in and morphs him into an awesome pitcher
- 9th straight win
- He's 12-2
- Scott Boras is his agent ](*,)
- Can we say, all together now, "Jeff Weaver a la 2006?"

Well, all good things must come to an end sonny and Sausy ;)

But holy crap, what a run you guys had! I mean, for chrissake, who WOULDN'T take 10 outta 11???

Btw, the Cards beat the pathetic Padres tonight too and the Cubs lost! (!)

Let's hope for a sweep of them, so we can catch up to the stupid Cubs! :D

It's all good Abs, after all ya can't win em all.
My big concern is for Maine, that kid has not won a game since Peterson left.
I have been watching him but can't quite figure out what he is doing differently. Our new pitching coach has made great with Perez and the pen
but Maine is struggling.

Hey Abs, Mets and Cards next week, are your guys ready for the Amazins?

Oh I'm ready babe...

I will be pausing TiVo on David Wright's hot ass when he's batting !oops!

I'm sad that baseball is halfway over

Such is life.

Aaron Miles hits a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth today to sweep the Padres.

Yes, you read that right - Aaron Miles!

:rotflmao:

I freaking love him. A scrappy player through and through, AND he can play pretty much any position on the field. Normally a shortstop/second baseman, but he pitched an inning (while striking out the side I believe) a couple weeks ago when we ran out of players! :=D:

5 in a row! C'mon boys, lets show the Brew Crew what we're made of tomorrow! (!)

I am so obsessed. It's not healthy.

The Marlins (are they ever gonna go away?) beat the Phillies :=D: with a single by Jorge Cantu that brought home the walk off winning run. But the excitement got really interesting as his teammates rushed him and Cantu grabbed Scott Olsen's crotch
If this is how they celebrated on the field imagine what went on in the locker room.

Not for nothin, but is it me or do the Marlins win a lot of games with walk off's

The Pirates dealt Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte to the Yankees.

In return they received three minor league players, pitchers Ross Ohlendorf, George Kontos, Phil Coke along with outfielder Jose Tabata.
Great move for the Yankees. I was a big fan of Nady when he was a Met and hated when they traded him for Mike Cameron. Back when that knucklehead Sanchez :grrr: got hurt in that car accident. Of course the best thing that happened in that deal was we got Ollie Perez. :=D:
Calm down Joey, Sanchez will recover, I gotta remember he has been good for us and forget the last two games.
I want Church to make a full recovery and he seems to be headed in that direction. But if we ever lost him it was Nady I wanted back at right field.
Good luck helping the Yankees get to a subway series with the Mets "X-Man". ..|

I am so fucking disgusted at our bullpen this year that it makes me want to puke.

I know that the Mets are a MUCH better team than the Cards. As are the Brewers.

But to get fucking swept at home by the Brewers is completely unacceptable. I hope Tony tore the team a new asshole in the locker room after the game.

*sigh*

I guess I'll be watching the playoffs from a bar this year

Awwwwwwwww poor baby, (*8*)(*8*)
Now I feel bad for whippin your guys butt last night
NOT!

One more thing Abs, never give up on your team, they are a good team and have a lot of good things going for them, plus there are a lot of games left to play. Keep up the faith.

Look what the Mets did, from where they were a few weeks back and where they are now.
Support your Cards, stand by them and never give up or say never

careful Brad.....your Red Sox slip is starting to show!

Good one Sausy,
Poor Brad is suffering from the same "three way" we are dealing with.
For him its, Tampa and Yankees and for us it's Phillies and Marlins.
At least we don't have to deal with Manny Ramirez :p although Boston, in spite of off Manny's drama, and well, let's call it stupidity, still needs him more then he needs them, which is why I laugh at any trade talk.
Plus Brad is sulking cause he did not get to pull out his Yankees broom yesterday.:D

OMG!

We actually won a game!

Let's keep beating up on the Braves!

Well,Yanks are slumping now with 3 straight losses unfortunately and the Red Sox avoided the sweep.Manny should retire a Red Sox....he just wants them to either grant or signal an intention to give him an extension. But he sure is immature......and as he proved even while making a distraction of himself,he can still play with the best,so Boston will not likely not risk dealing him.I read Omar contrary to denials has put to the Red Sox his interest if they really do want to deal him,and in the unlikely case they do,and if the Mets had what the Sox want....they would probably send him to the National League.

OMG!

We actually won a game!

I don't get nothin'from Abs anymore,not even a comment:cry: so =;And it's two in a row now for the Cards.;)

Good luck babe, and don't forget, Wainwright and Carpenter are coming back ..|
It's just a shame Mark Mulder is having serious problems trying to come back from arm trouble.Getting Wainwright and Carpenter back is great but how much can they be expected to contribute,at least right away?

Oh yes sonny....I'm still pissed at Abs so=; about the Cards til he actually responds to me!

Ouch,Red Sox have problems with Angels. Now,talk of a Manny trade.I say ship his ass out.Fucking retarded overrated bitch!
Just keep Wakefield.

Interesting to read you feel that way, I wondered how Boston fans feel about that trade possibility.
Those trade drums are getting louder; do you think the Phillies
will give you Pat (the bat) Burrell for him? Would you want that trade?
Burrell is kinda in the same league as Manny, and he could be better for the team overall.
Of course what comes to my mind is what will the Mets do if that happens, and will they react with a trade of their own. I still think Omar is looking for a corner outfielder or/and relief pitcher. I of course wanna stay with what we have.
