** The Official 2010 MLB Thread! **

Congrats to the Rangers and to RobertACE. The Yankees were completely overmatched in this series. They couldn't pitch, they couldn't hit. The Rangers did their job and they deserve it.

I'm really happy for Hamilton. I was at the 2008 Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium rooting for Hamilton all the way, and he put on a show that night I'll never forget. His story is incredible, one of my favorite players in the game.

As for my Yankees, I expect them to bring back the core free agents...Jeter, Rivera, Pettitte. They will probably go after Cliff Lee...they can probably outbid the Rangers, but it'll be a matter of whether Lee would rather stay in Texas after the great run they've had. I see them adding another pitcher either way. Crawford from Tampa Bay might be an option to sign for the outfield, but I'm not so sure they'll pursue him after the good season Gardner had.

I'm pulling for the Giants to win it all. I love Tim Lincecum. But if they lose to Philadelphia, I'll definitely be rooting for the Rangers.

Well said, I think this was absolutly the Rangers year and although I too love Lincecum I will be rooting for them expect them to go all the way in the WS

Ok Giants lets wrap it up this afterrnoon send those sorry ass Phillies back to Philadlephia.
Sorry Scrub don't be mad at me but you know how much I hate that team ;)

Rangers/Giants

Rapture could occur now and it wouldn't matter. I'm ready.

I've lived in the midcities all my life. I've spent so many hot summer nights sitting on those aluminum bleachers in the old Arlington Stadium with my Dad watching our Texas Rangers; many times going late so that we could get in free. Each year I'd get sucked in only to be let down. But my dad would keep the faith in the Rangers and keep going. When they picked up Rodriguez, that was it for me. I was done.

And now we're going to Series. I have a permeant (stupid) grin on my face but I can't help it. It's been so long and they have been playing ball like I have never seen them play before. They're executing so well and you can tell they are just really enjoying the game.

Dad died last year but I know he's grinning now too and saying "I told you so, boy. I told you so."

I am running to the store today to get this for my best friend who is A Yankees fan.
Yeah It's cruel, but I can't help myself, If you guys knew what a bad time he has given me over the years about my Mets you would understand he deserves this

Spent many a night on those old bleachers at Arlington Stadium myself, and some really hot days at the Ball Park in Arlington.

It finally paid off! (!)

Our ball club is going to the WORLD SERIES! (!w!)

GO RANGERS!

Love the shirt :D

I don't like the Yankees at all.

Rangers/Giants
Sonny has great taste,as always!;)

Luv ya,Scrub!:kiss:Loathe,Loathe,Loathe Phillies!!!:p

Go Phillies!
Go Texas!

(in that order)

Yeah, there's something I don't like about the Phillies. Can't really put my finger on it, but I do like it when they beat the Red Sox in interleague, and the Mets because most of their fans annoy me. lol

I would have rooted for Texas if the Phillies won, but now I'm with the Giants. Lincecum and Hamilton are two of my favorite players in the game, so I'll be happy for one or the other. Either way, I hope nobody sweeps so that my eye candy Lincecum can pitch twice. ;)

Will be pulling for the Giants, slight error by a previous poster, the last Giants WS win was in 1954, no biggie. Nothing against Texas, they have a team most people could cheer for, lots of good guys on the team, and a losing history they'd like to absolve. I think the Giants have a slight edge in overall pitching, but their offense can be very cold at times, Texas an advantage there. SHould be an exciting Series.

A Mets fans dream

SOOO late to this [STRIKE]celebration[/STRIKE] thread...stupid work!

But omg I was watching the Mizzou game on Saturday night and constantly asking about the Giants/Phillies score. There were several Cardinals fans that were also doing the same thing and hoping for the same outcome ;)

Sorry Scrub! (*8*)

But I'm excited for this World Series, and as much as I hate to admit it, am rooting for the Rangers. Only because they haven't even been in umpteenth years, but I also wouldn't mind if the Giants won either.

Kinda "meh" but I'll still watch :D

Happy World Series and Halloweenie to the MLB fans of this thread!

Go Rangers

I think that it ends up being the Rangers in 6 games, as Cliff Lee makes 2 starts and gets two of the wins himself. Josh Hamilton ends up adding a World Series MVP to his LCS MVP award, but I also think it has more to do with the Giants’ inability to string a fair amount of hits together as opposed to the Rangers being dominant.

Hey Abs...next year it's you and me Babe, the Mets and the Cards battle for the NL pennant. How fun would that be??:D

I'll take the Giants in six games, believe the Giants 2 & 3 starters, Sanchez and Cain are better than the Rangers 2 & 3 guys. It should be a close exciting Series, I think, but I've been wrong before. Will be fun, no matter who wins, since these franchises are long overdue for a Series victory.

Cliff Lee did the unthinkable last night to many people.... he showed that he was human.
Imo, this is going to go to six games, and I'm pulling for the Giants to win. They've been written off throughout all the series, been nice for them to show the critics one more time that they are the best of 2010.

Great job by Madison Bumgarner last nite, shutting out the Rangers. Giants only one win away, but it may be tough tonite vs Cliff Lee.

Congrats to the Giants, my dad is and late paternal grandfather are definitely happy, both used to live in the SF Bay Area and were Giants fans before the Rays were created. :)

I'm also getting lots of Facebook updates from most of my family (father's cousins family mostly) still living there.

Lincecum was ace tonight!

Nice to know he's part Filipino too, my nationality :D

Congrats to the Giants!. I'm not a bitter Phillies fan, the Giants deserved every win. This is why I love Baseball! It sure was an exciting Postseason! Great Offensive and Defensive match-ups! I'm just bummed that I have to suffer through Football Season, until the Boys of Summer return!

Hey Scrub...GO GIANTS!:pYou know I luv ya,(*8*):kiss:and I know the Phillies are quite capable of winning the next two.Just hope they won't!;)Roy Halladay is so impressive, pitching a strong six innings basically on one leg....hate the Philliies as much as I do,gotta respect them because they have the heart, talent and professionalism I wish my Mets had.BUt I do LOATHE them!!!:p

Hey Robert, you've got a great team in Arlington....the sound I hear through my television is that of Texas cheering they have slain the dreaded Yankee monster after all this time!;)Congrats to the Texas Rangers,a really good club who deserves the AL Championship, and no matter the NL club that wins for Robert I am rooting for their first World Series championship!(*8*):kiss:It's a great team effort, but of course I'm not gonna forget the awesome Josh Hamilton, what a world class talent and certainly salute the incredible Cliff Lee,AL World Series game 1 starter:pand sad to say for Yankee fans I think he really just might re-up with the Rangers.Became friendly with a lot of the players there including Michael Young after the trade from Seattle and appears to really like it there.Seeing Texas is in a World Series it appears, and the new ownership including Texas legend fireballer Nolan Ryan commited to reviving that proud franchise, why the hell wouldn't he seriously look at returning to a pretty damn good situation!

@ Sausy...Well, as a Mets Fan, you're required to loathe the Phillies. And Vice Versa, but thanks for the few nice comments you threw our way. There's always next Season, and the Mets and Phillies were chasing each other for 1st this Season, so it's anybody's Year! They aren't a team to be easily dismissed... That being said, and it wasn't easy to say that, I can't wait for April!! Congrats Giants!! I say this with respect, and true Sportsmanship, you were awesome to watch, and you deserved it! Let's hope that the Texans can keep Lee, or else the Yankees will likely buy him to try and buy another Championship. [-X
