Re: Is Beyonce a legend? This generation's greatest entertainer?
beyonce ended up getting the backseat and i'm pretty sure she was jealous of jennifer hudson too. she didn't look to happy when jennifer won the award while she didn't. if anything, i hope jennifer hudson ends up taking beyonce's spot because beyonce certainly didn't get there without ruining other people's lives and dreams.
they're NOT legends and never could be.
Let me stop you right there. I actually agreed with all of your post (even the part where Beyonce's dad threw the others under the bus, even being a Beyonce fan myself) till you said this I've quoted. Everyone here has an opinion and I respect it, but I've seen your posts and you seem to be talking out of your ass a lot.
If you do a little bit of research, on the part you say "Beyonce didn't look to happy when she won," Beyonce actually hugged Jennifer Hudson when she won. We can't really tell what she really thought, but based on her other interviews (being the fan that I am, I've seen them) one can only guess she was genuinely happy for her.
As for taking her spot, I don't think so. Being an Entertainer you need the whole package; singing, dancing and stage presence. Jennifer beats Beyonce in voice by a bit, but that's debatable. It depends on control. Beyonce has an above average voice, at least in my opinion, but most of the time doesn't get too much notice since her pop, catchy songs overshadows the fact that she does have a solid voice. Jennifer can't dance and her songs are mostly midtempo, ballads and slow songs. Unless she has the ability as Celine and Mariah, I doubt she'll be there soon.
Make sure you have information to back up what you say.
As for my opinion, I think she IS the entertainer of the decade for the 2000s. It's too much of a coincidence for her to be at the top of too many lists for "best of." Also, she's broken the record for most Grammy's won in one night and I think that counts for something. Previously she tied it with her first album, 5 in one night, tying Norah Jones, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse. In 2010, she broke the record and has 6. She also has the 3rd most, 16 behind Aretha's 18. Some people say Grammy's are a joke, but they aren't decided by fans. They're decided by professionals so I think they should know what they are doing.
Tabloids, pre-pregnancy, she seems to have done a good job straying away from them. If you notice, those in them are pretty talentless (ie. Britney, Kim Kardashian.) But then again, I don't read gossip too much, so I may be wrong.
When you hear other artists talk about Beyonce, they do it with the upmost respect. Known artisits, even legends. I've seen Bono, Celine, Mariah, Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Cher, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Prince have all said very nice things about her. Correct me if I'm wrong, but who has said the same thing of any other artist in the 2000s? To come from someone knows in the business says something.
She also has countless other accolades for "Best of" or "Most of" but I really can't name from the top of my head. She's won Billboard's Woman of the Decade, has 16 Grammys, sells out crowds and many other things. I would name more, but I'm at work now. XD
