I just LUV her new "dark" look :)

2011 was soooo her year!!!!

From New York Daily News:

In what would be a kind of magic casting, Katy Perry is reportedly circling the role of Freddie Mercury's long-time girlfriend in a biopic about the late Queen frontman.

The 27-year-old "Firework" singer would play Mary Austin, Mercury's long-time lover in the '70s, London's Mirror reported. Though they split after Mercury came out as bisexual, Austin remained a confidante until the singer's death from AIDS related complications in 1991.

Katy Perry - Wide Awake

Yayyyyyyy!

Katy Perry puts her breasts away for a video and comes up with one of my favorite videos this year.

And, I quite like this song :D

Katy Perry has really grown on me with her Teenage Dream & the album's re-release singles

This now becomes one of my favorite songs this year, right up there with What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) by Kelly Clarkson.

Thought I'd share the video :rb:

From EW:

Down in seventh, the 3-D concert documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me got off to a rather sluggish start — at least compared to the pop star’s hit singles, which often reach number one during their first week on the charts. Part of Me grossed a weak $7.2 million from Friday-to-Sunday and has amassed $10.3 million total since its Thursday release.

So the movie has to make another 2 million either in the theaters or on sales of the dvd before she starts making money from her 2 million investment.

Katy Perry Is Billboard's Woman of the Year :)

From Billboard.com

Katy Perry will take home the Woman of the Year Award at the 2012 Billboard Women in Music event on Friday, Nov. 30, in New York City, capping off a year that's seen the pop star break chart records, release a 3D feature film and bring her candy-colored tour all over the world.

After launching into the mainstream with the saucy single "I Kissed a Girl" and hit album "One of the Boys," Perry set fire to the charts with 2010's "Teenage Dream." The record-setting album notched five Hot 100 No. 1s, a first for an album by a female artist, and has sold 2.5 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. "Dream" spent over 100 weeks in the Billboard 200.

"Katy Perry broke into the industry not even five years ago, and has already accomplished more than most artists can hope for in an entire career," Bill Werde, Billboard's editorial director, says. "We are thrilled to celebrate these incredible achievements and her amazing past 12 months by honoring her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award. With what seems like a never-ending supply of record-breaking, chart-topping hits, coupled with her unique and fresh style, Katy Perry is hands-down one of the most exciting and inspiring artists in the industry today."

Billboard's annual Women in Music Event, now in its seventh year, celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the music business, coinciding with the publication of Billboard's Women in Music Power Players list. This year's event will be taking place on Friday, Nov. 30 at Capitale in New York City. Previous honorees include Taylor Swift, Fergie and Beyoncé.

Thought I'd share this. Kelly Clarkson covered Katy's Wide Awake

Don't get me wrong I love Katy but Kelly's live version of this song is 10x better than any performance Katy has done of this song.

No, but I imagine they will eventually.

The single leaked, and it's vapid as fuck. It's just sounds like Avril Lavigne singing a Sara Bareilles song co-written by The Lumineers. Nothing interesting about it.

Ugh! I hate her new single :( maybe I need to listen to it some more.

Yeah... I'm not feeling this one all that much either. It feels like a throwaway single for a movie soundtrack or a sports theme song. She should have saved "Wide Awake" as the lead single for Prism instead. But it'll be a hit and I'm sure I'll grow to like it.

Is "Brave" credited as the music sample for "Roar"? If not... :dead:
