Madonna's MDNA was number 1 in 49 countries as soon as it was available for pre-order. She's not done yet.

The guys from Kazaky are in her video...no wonder I thought the dancing and styling were really familiar...I see two of them to the left and right of her when it's the wide shot with all the dancers together.

Madonna opens up to reveal inner pain and turmoil on her new album, but the dance groove never slows.


Vulnerability isn't likely the first trait that comes to mind when you think of Madonna. The woman who titled her last studio album Hard Candy (2008) is contemporary pop's most durable alpha female, coolly courting fascination and controversy on her own terms.

Yet in some of her most beguiling songs, Madonna has opened her heart and let her defenses down a bit. Think of the pregnant teenager in Papa Don't Preach, begging for support even as she declares her resolve. Or the giddy lover pledging eternal devotion in Cherish.

Then imagine that those gals had lived a few more years, maybe married and divorced, and you'll have an inkling of the emotional wallop waiting in Madonna's most personal effort to date, MDNA, out Monday.

The album opens with single Girl Gone Wild, a breathless ode to dance-floor hedonism. "Girls, they just wanna have some fun," Madonna chirps over a thumping club groove. Several tunes share an almost defiant buoyancy; I'm Addicted and Turn Up the Radio celebrate romantic surrender, but there's a sense that what's being sought more is escape.

The standard and deluxe explicit versions of MDNA offer an early hint that we're headed for darker terrain. The second track, the pulsing, sardonic Gang Bang, describes not an orgy but a revenge fantasy, in which a woman shoots and kills a wayward and possibly abusive partner. Chanting profanely, Madonna could either be mocking a persecutor or turning the tables on him.

Anger isn't this album's defining quality, though. The songs that seem to allude to Madonna's ex, Guy Ritchie, are charged with sadness and self-doubt. Love Spent is the most stinging: "Would you have married me if I were poor?" she asks, after a bluegrass-tinged intro segues into a radiant electro-pop arrangement.

Spent is one of numerous tracks co-written and co-produced by Madonna's Ray of Light and Beautiful Stranger collaborator William Orbit, whose sonic savvy is just as keen here. I'm A Sinner has a groovy ebullience reminiscent of the latter hit, even as the lyrics again evoke a woman racing past pain. On the gorgeously ethereal Falling Free, Madonna sings of finding both grace and alienation in love.

But MDNA is no self-pity party. There's wry humor and unabashed yearning; check out the semi-confessional multi-tasker's lament I Don't Give A, co-written and featuring a rap by Nicki Minaj. And Madonna emerges, as always, a survivor.

"Nothing's indestructible," she admits on the Latin-kissed Masterpiece, but still vows, "I will not renounce all hope." And why should she, of all people?

Listened to Gang Bang for the first time today. I pre-ordered MDNA on iTunes a few weeks back and I was going to wait but I just couldnt...the song is WOW...I just love it..

my favorite line!!!

Madonna is a really musically daring artist. Thought MDNA was much better than Hard Candy (I mean the Timberlake-Timbaland magic only worked for Timberlake).

Need advice on Madonna Sale on craigslist

Hello I don't have experience at selling, I posted an add on craigslist and want your opinion. Madge fans will know if the price is right 350. Is it too high or just right? Too low? Need pointers if I need to edit my post. Thank you!

Here is a lot of rare Madonna albums on vinyl lp. Bedtime stories itself is a value of $200 (or 150-175 if surface noise/scratches are present. You will get mint only.) Erotica ORIGINAL pressing out of print is valued at a minimum of $100 if you are lucky. Everything else like confessions ray of light are also a bit more pricey more then the cds. Here is a photo of everything you will get. This price for everything you are getting is a STEAL.

I am trying to pay alot of bills as I am in debt and already 23 years old, I am desperate so I have to sell my collection; hard times.

e is EXCELLENT and MINT. EROTICA contains the bonus track DID YOU DO IT? Brazilian edition. Like a prayer is the GERMAN pressing.

As a bonus I will include a rare collectors version box set of CONFESSIONS ON A DANCE FLOOR (Compact Disc) with a bonus track, journal, and thick glossy book of exclusive photos VERY NICE. Out of print.

I hate to be blunt, but I don't think they are worth much, check out Ebay and see what similar things are going for. A book or site may tell you an item is worth $200, but that's only if some fool is stupid enough to pay that for it.

My first piece of advice is don't pay attention to fools like the one that just posted. Obviously some people are stupid enough to not know there is a collectors market for your records. Their ignorance tells you how much they don't know.

My second piece of advice is have the mods merge this thread into the Madonna thread where you are likely to counter more evolved comments except for the one little monster troll.

Thirdly I'd go right to Madonna fan and collector sites where you are likely to get a more informed response.

Just watched Madonna LIVE on Facebook with Jimmy fallon and it sucked, it went way too quick and Fallon picked the dumbest questions to ask...

ANYwho...for Madonna's NYC Fans she is adding a third NYC Show November 12th at Madison Square Garden...on sale date is Monday March 26th...I so wanna go but Im already going to see her at Yankee Stadium...
