As a huge Mariah fan myself, I agree with some of your single selections. She is so talented. Her and her team chose bad selections as singles.
Granted--TMB did go to #1...she should've released Stay in Love after TMB or For The Record! ;) That would've started a good momentum as far as marketing the album. Hoipe she does awesome with this new one she's working on...she's got WALTER AFANASIEFF {Love Takes Time, Butterfly} on the team!! Woohoo!!

"Kazahstan" is sooo last year. She has since performed @ the Pre-Grammy awards party in front of a room full of A-List stars and got RAVE reviews for her performance/voice. Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Diddy, Jamie Foxx and Faith Evans were a few of the celebrities in the room who all BUM-RUSHED the stage to record her with their cams and to cheer her on. That doesn't scream "just done" to me lmao. Mariah Carey could NEVER get that type of reaction from CELEBRITIES acting like regular excited fans for her. She PALES in comparison to Whitney Houston. She can't even get a standing ovation from REGULAR average joe fans, let alone her celebrity PEERS and fellow singers. They barely show her any love. And Whitney sounds miles better than 2009 Mariah Carey live!

Everthing you said about MiMi's past and current vocals is the TRUTH..MiMi Lip-syncs to pre-recorded tracks every time she hits the stage.....She's Beautiful, Sexier than ever and she has good taste in the Dudes she falls for(looks-wise)..And she's got more money than she can spend...

OMG! LOL LOL! Just watch that. She is completely done. No vocal rest can ever fix that horrendously damaged voice. Don't get me wrong...She was good back then but she is crap now. At least Mariah can still sing and is a stronger vocalist than all of the artists of this generation. The only artist who comes close to Mariah is Leona Lewis but her range isn't as big.

Damn that was BAD! All the areas of her voice are damaged...her head voice, her chest voice, her low register. She was known for her marvelous head register...now it has a scratchy sound to it. It's such a shame...a once such an amazing vocalist to turn like this.

A few things:

1) Who keeps resurrecting all of these Mariah Carey threads?

2) I'm not exactly surprised at the video of Whitney Houston. I saw her at the Grammy's barely being able to speak without cracking, so...

3) Mariah does not possess the power that she did in the past. Leona Lewis has a big voice, but she's not that powerful.

4) Whitney and Mariah's voice have both deteriorated. One's voice has deteriorated mainly due to drug use and the other's mainly due to oversinging extensively in extremely high registers. Can we end this comparison between the two?

I never understood the comparisons between Leona and Mariah. Leona's voice is NOTHING like Mariah's, absolutely nothing...not the tone, the thickness nor the power. Leona's voice is paper thin, pretty weak...she has a decent belting vocal range but nothing special about it. She's so mediocre it's not even funny.

Oh my Gosh...I LOVE Whitney so much I couldnt sit through that YouTube Clip...She looked STUNNING as always..But her voice was SHOT that night...

The 3 songs I heard were TERRIBLE...

Same here, Fucker. Don't get me wrong, Mariah never had a rich, rich tone either, but she was certainly a little thicker than Leona and she had more power. In addition, Mariah's high and low notes were impressive for a Soprano, but people compare Leona to Mariah because she hit a few notes in the upper 6th register.

Agreed. I do think Mariah has a rich tone but in her low register. Overall speaking, she doesn't have exactly the richest of tones but I do think what she does have is a unique tone.

Well, everyone is going to sound richer in his or her lower register though. That's just the function of the voice. However, her voice is unique, like you stated.

Needless to say it is VERY forgetable..It is PURE Pop-Tart with a sugarless Bubble Gum filling...
