I really like this album. Better than E=MC2. My favorite songs are Obsessed, Inseperable, Standing O, Angel's Cry, IWTKWLI and H.A.T.E.U.

Like others have mentioned already, I'm really surprised Mariah's CD isn't doing better in sales. It's a great CD. I find myself listening to a few tracks more than others but I like the whole CD. Love Ribbon, It's A Wrap, H.A.T.E.U. among others. I've probably played those 3 more than any of the others. Really disappointed it hasn't done better for her. Hopefully H.A.T.E.U. will take off and get the CD going again.

Great to see many Mariah Carey stans here. I don't know why people seem to not care about her anymore, and the number of haters is increasing. MOAIA is a great album

WOW Mariah's X factor performance was excellent. I think that it was her best performance of IWTKWLI. A huge step up from the Today Show performance. Good job!

As a Mariah fan--she did a good job on this album especially lyric wise. Of course--the reason this album hasn;t sold as well is because of the lack of promotion of the label. She needs to get someone on the ball with her stuff! I can't wait for the remix album to come out. I heard some of the songs already. Some great stuff there!

I doubt I will be seeing her show. She has a good live voice, but obviously poor stage presence. I love her little skits where she just talks to the audience, a DIVA would never do that. It really shows how much she enjoys connecting w her fans. Also I like when artists do remixes that are tailored for concert performances and mariah doesnt take it far enough (ie madonna).

I cant wait for the remix album though! idk how she would sound w neyo & i hate how nick cannon is going to be directing the video for a beautiful song. he sucks as a director!
 
Is Mariah's voice finally recovering? Can it be?

Her performances of "I Wanna Know What Love Is" have been showing a slight recovery of her vocal ability...although a couple of notes are lipped the live parts were pretty good considering the condition of her voice in recent years.

Now, I came across with a few performances from like 5 days ago or something...I was blown away at how good her voice was...she even performed "Emotions", something she hasn't dared singing since 2000. Her voice was amazing singing "Emotions" and she did all the high notes...I was shocked...and it WAS indeed live. Is it possible that her voice is coming back? I haven't heard her singing this way in several SEVERAL years. Check it out:

"Make It Happen" was also good...she only comes out singing about halfway the video

Notice how she did the whistle in "Emotions" the way she did in the studio version...she has never done that before. She's finally able to surprise me. Her voice isn't there yet but this is a big improvement...'bout time!

I dunno about all of that now. I noticed she tried to do the whistle part, but I barely heard it. Maybe b/c the fans were screaming so loudly and the quality of the video isn't up to par but she didn't attack that note like she did on the album version of "Emotions".

I guess improvement b/c a sound actually came out whilst she did it. Other than that, it was a step above Audition Week on American Idol imho.

I didn't mean the strength of the note...I meant the adlib was the same as in the album version and she's never done that adlib live before...NEVER! So that's why I was so surprised. It was also harder to hear 'cause everyone screamed in that part...I guess they weren't expecting it.
I've watched the performance with earphones so I can actually hear much better...she nailed that adlib...not with the same strenght but, other than that, it was perfectly executed.

Still not understanding how Mariah is having vocal problems? Was she not singing correctly? Did she smoke?She appears to be in good health.

Ella around 50 yrs old



Aretha around 40



Chaka around 50



Ella,Aretha,Chaka and others were still cranking it out at 40. They all sang hard at times,started singing at an early age and toured especially Ella. So what's up with Mariah?

Aretha's voice is not was it once was...the smoking messed up her voice as well. She can still sing that's for sure though.
Chaka, Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight are still rocking! And Patti...well, Patti is Patti...at 66yo she still has IT...and her voice is recovering really well from a throat infection she's had that messed up her vocal chords.

I don't really know what went wrong with Mariah's voice...she's always said her voice can be really strong but it's also really fragile and delicate. I'm guessing lack of proper rest, stress, alcohol drinking (she loves her glass of champagne) and maybe training (Tommy Mottola was prolly a bastard but those were her best years vocally...she'd train and exercise those vocal muscles like no other...after the divorce her vocal ability declined drastically...maybe she got a little sloppy).
I just hope she keeps getting better and better...she's got a terrific gift to go to waste.

I'm so excited to hear this remix of 'Angels Cry'. It's my favorite song of the album. I'm actually really excited about the new material.

Mariah has realy delicate vocal chords. And it's clear that she did not take care of her voice over the years like she should have. But with that being said, on her worst vocal day, Mariah is still loads better vocally than 95% of the female vocalists out there.
