The Racism and Fat Shaming and Extreme Femme Shaming and Misogyny in the LGBTQUAPI+ Communitty

Robertson's Jam, not that you want to be Googling that.

I don't need to, more of your infantile race baiting. I know you don't mean it, as well I know it is a projection of your own self loathing so I don't take offense. If it were ari or peeon I would, but from you it's just sad. You're too young to be this bitter.

Green isn't your color. Are you concord or smuckers? #jelly

He’s just upset because his threads don’t even hit the mediocre marker.

You asked the question, i love their jam, their racist past is not my concern, i'm sure there are brands still going strong in America that have used similar iconography.

Thankfully we are in more enlightened times.

And guess what?
Sometimes people who have been marginalized, ignored, or disregarded don't notice that they may have some unlikely people in their side. Like me.
Who'd expect that somewhat scruffy older guy wearing the Winnipeg Jets cap would even notice the big black boy with the earrings on the trolley? Let alone approve of him and think he's an amazing person and a valuable part of our community.
Ok. I'm not a dating possibility. I'm pretty much undateable and the differences might make that quite creepy. It might even be a stretch to be real-life friends. Unless we work together or get introduced somehow. But, surprise...some people who hardly know you like you and want you to succeed. I'm cheering for you.

If bisexuality were universal*, I'd say that that masculinity and femininity are just arbitrary things that don't matter. The fact that both homosexuality and heterosexuality exist means that for most of us, masculinity and femininity are hugely relevant. Coming out is enough of a struggle for most of us that we know how much it matters. No you couldn't just substitute a woman for my guy and think I have a shot at happiness. I drove myself nuts trying to be heterosexual. I didn't enjoy my ex-girlfriend's femininity, and I don't relate to it any better in a guy. Actually, I can enjoy the femininity of the women around me now that I've come out and I don't have to deal with it. (*and not just any kind of bisexuality. A few bi guys are truly universal in what they want from a partner. A lot of bi guys look for different things from men and women, or at least they find different things.)

If transgender people didn't exist, maybe I'd say that that masculinity and femininity are just arbitrary things that don't matter. But people notice when their bodies don't match up to their sense of self. People go through major surgery, having decided that their default bodies are not the best vehicles for who they truly are.

Gender isn't a "social construct," it's something that most of us feel down to having our anatomy altered to meet our understanding of masculinity or femininity.

The fact that we have masculinity and femininity isn't even obviously a problem. It's kind of delightful that I get to enjoy the masculinity of my guy and I enjoy it more because it's not femininity and I'm out now, so I don't have to fake it and I get to be honest about what I want in a partner and what I'm attracted to. It's not wrong to blur the boundaries, I guess. And it's not even possible keep masculinity and femininity apart anyway: we're mostly human, and mostly the things that matter to men also matter to women. But there is a difference. And for me and a lot of gay guys, having been forced into trying to like what isn't natural for us, it's nice to enjoy the difference and seek it out now that we're free of the closet.

Racism is a problem. It's hard to agree on the extent. It's hard to know what to do about it that will make a practical difference. In some ways it is self-limiting. A racist who won't date someone outside his race should not be allowed to date someone outside his race anyway. Screw 'em. They can go date another racist and fuck off to the other end of the gay dating pool that is drying up with every year. It's easiest to think of them like zombies. They appear human but you wouldn't want to date one anyway so it's not like you've lost anything. The dating pool of actual humans was just a bit smaller than you first realized.

...Everything is socially constructed, including how genders and gender roles are being defined. The concept of gender is most definitely a social construct, even if what's considered to make up gender itself might not be so. There is nothing humanity has not done that is not, by default, part of a social construct. Usually many.

Which isn't to say people don't have preferences.

But the definitions? The wiggly, gauzy parameters that both create & distinguish specific concepts (as opposed to doing the behavior or having the emotion)? We made 'em up. Whole cloth, even. And those made up things do influence behavior; when words and concepts have social and emotional clout, you can't help but have it influence behavior.

...Well, almost whole cloth. Only thing not 'made up' are the reactions. Which is kind've funny when you think about it, to have the beginning behavior/emotions be serious, the end result be serious, and the middle be a clusterfuck of 'the puzzle must fit this way!" I'm reminded of the discrepancy between the concept of gender in the west vs the middle east; there's similarities, but there's differences as well. Afraid I don't really know enough of weaving for the creation of a decent analogy despite a loom living in the 'corner office'/bedroom/dining room.

so many times men are told "Stop being a sissy" Dont cry "Stop being a Pussy" "You Throw like a Girl"

That is INHERENTLY MISOGYNISTIC
Having Emotions is not a crime
this is how society is crap and there is a conformist image of what a "man" is 'supposed" to be that is reinforced daily in the lives of people I'm tired of these idiotic gender roles,

And yes I am not in shape and I have partaken in looking for bodybuilders or muscle people because I have fascination or obsession with them to a point of unhealthy views on body image and being on dating apps can influence that no excuses at all I have bias and I m working on that but no matter what each Body size is beautiful people just need to take off their society glasses and see the truth that all these images and "norms" are not healthy and that each one of us is a being and each one of us is ourselves because we truly know ourselves and each individual knows who they are.

Also a lot of this all relates back to the Misogyny and hatred of Women and Feminine things due to a patriarchal sexist society and world where women and anyone else who identofies outside the constructed "two genders" is seen as less than and outcasts. I am A Proud Out Cast And A Proud Weird Person!!!!

alot of the "masc for masc" people I thinkare self hating and caught up in the cult of masculinity likehow Terry Crews says "Masculinity Can Be A Cult" And Toxic Masculinity is EXTREMELY DESTRUCTIVE to EVERYONE

for example how if you dont act in a certain way you aren't considered "a man" COME ON This is so insignificant like the whole sitting down and standing up debate BATHROOM POSITIONS DONT DETERMINE YOUR GENDER OR SELF WORTH!!!!! Although Sitting Down Creates Less Of A Mess!!!! And just by how You dress or talk or act is determined on whether " Your A Woman or A man" That Doesn't Matter How YOU Identify Is WHO YOU ARE!!!! Not some socially Constructed image. Like this article on Queerty made me wat to Cry and made me so Angry because shows how assimilative and conformist the "masc for masc" label is and People change and hide their true selves just to be accepted by really crappy yet put on pedestals of "masculine perfection masc for masc perfection"
And changing Your True self for other people just to be accepted is one of the most un-fair and heartbreaking things.

this leads to someone thinking that they re so great and cocky and think that everything including sex is owed to them heck look at Topher Dimaggio the predator pornstar who raped men and assaulted Bryan Hawn and then claimed "they weren't man enough" when they defended themselves

...Everything is socially constructed...

Not even society is socially constructed. The fact that ants live in colonies and polar bears are loners isn’t some kind of cultural invention of ant society and polar bear society.

LGBTQUAPI+

I don’t know all of these ones. I call us the Gay BLT community because thats an awesome sandwich.

Lesbionic, gaaaaay, confused, trans, queer, unicorn, Argentinians, prancers, intersex? Then math.

Also bi guys I’m kidding about the confused thing. And a bunch of the rest of you I’m kidding too but I don’t even know what those letters are. In Canada I’m used to seeing 2S in that list from some old Indigenous customs about gender and orientation that have been revived and adopted by people lately. And an extra Q for “questioning.” And often an “S” for straight. They have an orientation too.

Uhhh yeah, so I’m going with Gay BLT Community.

We're neither polar bears nor ants - and I was speaking of creating/describing reality for the particulars of communication - gender and social role being a big example.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_constructionism

Not to overuse Wikipedia but when I said everything is socially constructed it wasn't shorthand for 'fake'. Humanity makes up a lot of things, from 'time' to concept of 'value'. It's the definitions and interpretations that are mostly 'whole cloth'. No less true than any other thing, but I think if we're going to attach the concept of 'factually accurate' to any given single defenition it's decidedly whole-cloth when you take into account everyone else's interpretations. It really can't be anything but when all the information by an individual is gathered piecemeal and meanings are not static.
