The Real World: Cancun!

I still see Aiiiiiiiiya as starting it that night.....Joey and everyone were trying to gather everyone and they were missing someone...she was getting in everyone's face asking about her cigarette and they told her that they're missing a person, it's more important then her cigarette right now and she said it again and Joey told her to shut up...which I would have done as well....then she flips out cause he told her to shut up....aka....she started it.


but in all reality...it doesn't matter anymore....they made up and had a nice little bonding moment at the end....the end=)

That wasn't the start of it. Joey threw the first punch during the pool thing. He decided he didn't like her and said she'd be funner if she never opened her mouth. At the club she was already pissed at him for that and that's what caused her behavior.

Joey is the douchiest douchebag on RW since Puck. At least so far.

He has the maturity of a fruitfly and the ego of Donald Trump.

His body verges on being creepy and he has at best average looks. (I'd call him homely, but everybody has different ideas about what is attractive.) So why so many folks here think he hot escapes me completely. He's just your average stoner punk.

He started the fight and he got just what he deserved. It took the destruction of his guitar for him to realize what an ashole he'd been.

Maybe he's learned his lesson. But people with his level of self-entitlement usually revert to type.

Most of this cast are going to wind up in AA by the time they're 30. They drink like fish.

Jonna is a cocktease. She needs the hot guy to chase after her. She had her eye on CJ the minute she saw him.

There's going to be lots of trouble with their job. They didn't show their supervisor repeating the rules twice for no reason.

Clearly Derek has the hots for Joey. He didn't even know what had happened and still jumped to his defense. He probably got a hard-on when he put his arm around Joey's neck and hugged him, I was prepared to like him, but I'm getting the sneaky bitch vibe from him lately.


Have there been any aftershows? I forgot RW was on both weeks and had to watch the reruns. I'm getting suspicious that not all of them may have made it to the end of the series.

Potential Spoilers!

I've found myself really enjoying this season. So far Ayiiia seems like a nasty bitch and Joey is an obnoxious douchebag. Bronne seems like a sweet guy and has a great easy going attitude. CJ/Jonna storyline has been played out a million times on the RW so Id rather just ignore the both of them. Emilee is a stuck up bitch and Derek and Jasmine are both bitchy but likeable.

So prior to this season I was checking out guytv blog and I read the rumors they had going for this season. It was intially reported that there were 2 gay men in the house, but lo and behold when the cast was announced there was only 1 gay guy in the group. But apparently something happens coming up that results in one of the guys leaving. My intial guess was Joey got physical and punched that twat Ayiiia but now I dont think thats what happened. I believe he gets fired from his job which results in him having to leave RW. Apparently he is replaced by this guy, who may be the second gay roommate reported.

I'd love for a gay guy to replace Joey. Joey's ugly and annoying so there's nothing in it for me. I'd also love it if Jonna and CJ were replaced.

The shorts that guy is wearing really does seem like something only a gay guy would wear. I wish they'd show him without the sunglasses. They should've had him from the start since from what I've seen so far, I'm not liking Derek. This is the 5th season to have more than one homosexual on it. Hawaii(Was Ruthie Bi or a lesbian?), Chicago, Philedelphia, Brooklyn, and Cancun.

What I don't get is MTV's motives behind giving them a job with rules that go against everything the Real World is? Do they hate them that much?

I've never understood the whole job thing anyway. They didn't apply to be on the show because they needed a job and that's usually one of the lamest aspects of show whenever it's on.

Then again, they had no job in Brooklyn and that season was a complete snoozefest so maybe they know something I obviously don't.

I thought Brooklyn was pretty interesting.

It was better seeing the cast trying to pursue something they were passionate about, than seeing them get handed a "job" just to keep them busy.


And as far as everything else goes -there's not much different going on with this season (thus far).

You're right about them going after their own dreams and pursuits being interesting because it was different from the norm. As for everything else, fairly tame compared to the trash-fests that preceded it.

But you're right, so far this season is like all the rest before Brooklyn but it's early days. I'm waiting for them to get in trouble behind that job of theirs. Does anyone know if any season has had a worse possible job in terms of the rules?

I'm probably one in a few--but I LOVE Aiiiya! She's going to be one of my favorites this season. She reminds me so much of Arissa (Las Vegas) who I also adored.

Joey is a filthy, disgusting douchebag. OH...and he couldn't be more unattractive to me. I'm glad some of you find him hot, because I'd kick his ass outta my bed before he even had a chance to crawl in. He even looks like he smells horrible...

And I'm with Jasmine. If he had spit in my food, I would've been on a plane back home in a minute...because I would have wiped the floor with his disgusting ass.

Derek is an asswipe who likes Joey. I like how he quickly rushed to his defense and jumped in the middle of things, when he didn't even know what went down. I was LMAO when Em dismissed his stupid ass. He has to be one of the most generic looking gay guys I've seen on this show yet. So plain and blah...he's not ugly--but there's nothing that makes him stand out either.

I'm glad your back because we always agree on this real world shit. I like Ayiia and Jasmine. They are a funny duo. I loved when they snuck into the room during Joey's hookup. That's prolly how his nasty ass got the herp btw. He prolly did catch something from that girl that's why he went crazy on her taco. If someone told me I had herpes when they were half drunk outside a club and I didnt, I wouldnt even care.

Derek was so dumb when Joey started to admit he deserved what happened to his guitar for instigating further, he still told him it wasnt his fault. What a dumb homo. You know how some homosexuals are. they get so excited that a straight guy actually treats them with a shred of respect and they fall madly in love.It was hilarious when Emily told Derek to get lost. I havent heard that in a while it was too funny.

I mean, they live in a virtual palace. Speaking of that palace, they are living there for free, no? If they want to make fools of themselves in Cancun, they can always come back after the show is over, on their own dime.

Very interesting observations made about the show in one of the Real World threads of another site. I thought it was interesting so I summarized the observations people made and added my own comments under each observation.

Observation #1

4/5 of the Latino men they've cast are gay.

Gay: Willie, Pedro, JD, Derek
Straight: Jose

My comments: It’s 5/6 if you count Ryan from Fresh Meat. I’ve always thought Jose might’ve been closeted. He’s definitely a metrosexual. They’ve never really cast a really masculine Latino guy. Maybe they don’t want to portray Latino men that way even though there are many masculine Latino men.

Observation #2

Almost all of the black women on the show are mixed raced so someone in the thread was saying that maybe they only like casting lighter skinned black women.

Half/Mixed: Melissa, Coral, Anessa, Nicole, Irulan, Arissa, Shavonda, Janelle, Brianna, Brittni
Full Black: Devyn (But she only likes dating white men)

My comments: They didn’t say anything about Jasmine but she looks like she could be. I didn’t watch the earliest seasons but I’m sure there were more black females that they left out. They did mention though that Devyn was the first in a LONG time.

Almost all the black men are darkest skin tones with very few mixed and lighter skin tones. Opposite of how they cast black women.

Dark Skinned: Alton, Stephen(Seattle), Tyrie, Karamo, Jacquese, Greg, Nehemiah, Theo, Cyrus
Light Skinned: Nick, Stephen(Denver)

My Comments: The person listed Nick and Stephen as Dark skinned but I don’t think so.

They had a Tranny before an Asian male and they still don’t have an Asian male (Straight or gay) in 22 seasons.

My comments: There have been about 75 men cast and not one Asian. They probably believe in stereotypes that they’re all nerdy but they’ve already cast nerds but even if it was true, the “Real World” has nerds in them and the only one I could think of that they cast was Lacey. Also all the people they’ve cast have model builds and no fat people when 60% of the country is said to be overweight. Not a very good representation of "The Real World".

blacks come in many tones of color. its not always due to mixerd race.

asians are too smart to go on trailer trash shows that will mess up their lives and careers in the future.

But they didnt apply for an internship at the White House. They applied for the Real World. And found out they were living in Cancun. Any logical person wouldnt in their wildest dreams, anticipate a job that limits their behavior even on their OWN personal time. It is completely ridiculous. I'm not a big drinker but even I would be livid if I got on the Real World and was given a job that limits my behavior on my personal time.

so what is your point? the show is not PC? we all know latin men are gay or at least gay curious. they love those transexuals. lets not even get started on the skin tones of blacks. its not always due to mixed race. asians are to smart to to go on a trailer trash show that will screrw up their future. and why would i want to watch a bunch of naked fat peolpe on tv? its called marketing. and fat people on the real world is not going to get mtv what it wants.
