lately i have come to the conclusion that it is an open flame no flame zone

perhaps the idea of respecting people and their spiritual beliefs was just to much of a wishfull thought for a porn site

but honestly, i think that the only kind thing to do would be to put it out of its misery and close it completely

Maybe moving it to the No Flame Zone is a good idea to do. I'm pretty sure Ronboy keeps that area cleaned out with all the flames. But I haven't been there, the only time I was there was when I responded to a Ghost thread.

one loser just pulled that on me in the religion forum.

he said that i wasnt respecting his religion and spiritualityu by asking him to respect mine

and it occurred to me.... if you really think that you have a religious right to flame other people for their beliefs then the entire forum is really useless and inherently broken.... a no flame zone that allows flaming as a religious right.

and BTW... refering to Muhammed as a liar for disagreeing with his personal interpretation of the bible is what he thinks is an ok thing to do in a no flame zone.

you have to live under a rock to not get what that means to a muslim and it is repeated over and over again

the experiment was grand and there were the best of intentions, but JUb is growing and getting verhy fractured and fragmented.

i see no real reason to keep a forum around that serves nothing that it was originally set up to do

heres the difference

the CE&P forum is a high flame zone and the religion forum is a no flame zone

but you would think they are the same thing, wouldnt you?

really think about it

consider what would happen if you went into the bear forum and ranted about how gross and ugly fat guys are and said you had a right to say it based on the fact that you like skinny guys

if you cant define your beliefs without tearing other people down then you dont really have much of an ability to think clearly and if the forum considers that an ok thing to do then it simply ISNT a NO FLAME FORUM

as a bear, would YOU post in the bears forum under those conditions?

Well then I guess it needs to be controlled then. I'm just saying that maybe it does need to be changed to just spirituality forum, but then it would be taking away from people wanting to discuss about religion. But then again, maybe I'm too stupid to understand.

well there is an idea... i have too big a mouth and opinion to be a mod. I dont mind that reality. it just is what it is. I am rather short on diplomacy and patience at times and that would not be good for the general good of the board.

did you know that both the site owners have had long term relationships with non white men

Thundercizzle, Seth's Uber sexy hubby, was even an admin for a while, and he is a true blue african god....lol

JD has always been a bit more private and I think only once in memory he mentioned his partner the two years I have been here.

i think that one or two of the mods dont get alternate cultures and arent really interested in figuring them out, so it isnt that the site is built for that kind of thing.

in any case

i think the guys in there could use an expansion of perspectives, but since they pick the next ones, it is what it is.

well, when you're constantly being bombarded with, "your religion sucks, you dont know what you're talking about, blah blah blah", anyone would be hard-pressed to be patient.

people dont seem to get that spirituality is a personal thing and that their personal belief in a deity/faith does not grant them a complex.

but then again, i expect too much, LOL

well lets be honest here

that forum was set up because i and a few other guys asked for it. the reason it was created was to make a place for spiritual people to have a place to discuss their ideas safely

i am open to all religions as my faith requires that i read all of their literature. they actually do me a favor by talking about their beliefs.

but going on a long long tangent on the validity of other faiths that arent theirs is just wearisome and intimidating for gay muslims that have a really hard time with being gay

they are still executed in their homelands and some of them risk their life just by logging onto JUB.

they deserve a safe place to work things out without all the slamming.

It still boils down to group dynamics. If nobody want to listen to what you have to say, what can you do about it? You either have to turn them around or you have to find another audience.

I can see your frustration, but just because the forum you helped start isn't going in the direction you had hoped for doesn't mean it should be shut down. That certainly won't achieve your original intent.
