The Return of Karma

In 2012, Allen West chose not to defend his seat in the House, when reapportionment made his district heavy Democratic. Instead, he ran in a nearby heavily Republican district, and still lost. Shows you what the voters thought of him.

Allen West was in Army Intelligence during the Iraq War. Apparently he was notorious for using terroristic tactics in questioning Iraqis, as in holding a gun to prisoners heads and screaming "Tell me what I want, or I'll blow your fucking brains out!" kind of stuff.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_West_(politician)

He must be the sort of case Saint John Republican Wayne had in mind when he said "I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility.".

Allen West, Texas GOP Gubernatorial Hopeful, Has COVID-19

GARLAND, Texas (AP) — Tea party firebrand Allen West, a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor of Texas, said Saturday that he has received monoclonal antibody injections after being diagnosed with COVID-19 pneumonia.

The antibodies are used to treat those in the early stages of a coronavirus infection.

“My chest X-rays do show COVID pneumonia, not serious. I am probably going to be admitted to the hospital,” West wrote. “There’s a concern about my oxygen saturation levels, which are at 89 and they should be at 95.”

And a reminder:

Only in the Republican Party of 2021, could getting COVID-19 be a campaign strategy.

Expect a future ad from Allen West saying, "Greg Abbott may have gotten COVID-19 first but he's not a real Republican, because he got vaccinated! I'm the true Republican, because I got it, I took horse dewormer and malaria drugs and I nearly died! Let's see Greg Abbott top that!"

Unvaxxed Allen West Has COVID, Pneumonia, and Low Oxygen [Daily Beast]
Right-winger Allen West said Saturday that after not getting vaccinated and using unproven drugs to prevent COVID, he has contracted the virus and will likely be hospitalized with pneumonia and low oxygen...

The Trump-loving ex-congressman said he and his wife, Angela, who is vaccinated but also got infected, were treated with monoclonal antibodies, which can help stave off severe disease if used early enough...

Earlier in the day, West had tweeted that after his wife tested positive on Friday he developed “a low grade fever and light body aches” and added that he was “already taking Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin protocols”—two ineffective drugs popular with the anti-vaxxer crowd.

Speaking of anti-vaxx Republican politician. At age 75, Medicare covers most of the cost of Indiana State Senator Dennis Kruse's 10 day stay in the ICU.

ICU time does not sway view on vaccine [Journal Gazette]
INDIANAPOLIS – Sen. Dennis Kruse's voice is a little scratchy with an occasional cough as he tells how he recently almost died from a bout with COVID-19.

The conservative Republican from Auburn writhed in agony in bed for a week, eventually spent 10 days in an intensive care unit and now is at home getting his strength back after losing 20 pounds.

And Kruse stands behind not getting the vaccine, which might have avoided a hospitalization.

“I chose to not do that. I don't think it's necessary,” he said in an interview with The Journal Gazette. “I believe in natural herd immunity. Let it take its course and move on.”

Sometimes the "herd immunity" gambit doesn't go so well.

Good news though. No GoFundMe.

Natasha Tiner. Texan. Nurse in a psychiatric hospital. Anti-vaxxer. Leaves 4 orphaned children behind.

Natasha believed she had COVID in Jan, 2020... before the first cases in the US (March, 2020) and before there was a test available to confirm COVID-19 infection. She believed that she didn't need to get vaccinated to protect herself, her family or her patients. And she didn't like it that her employer was going to mandate vaccinations.

By the end of September, thoughts and prayers time because Nathasha has been sick for two weeks and meanwhile, hubby was posting the anti-vax memes!

Oh, and he has a GoFundMe, of course. :##:

As have I. They call us "sheep" because they think we are vaccinated and masked because lib's and Biden told us to be. Which is wrong and stupid. I'm vaccinated and wear a mask for my personal health and the public health and because I actually believe/trust the science. They think they're strong because nobody can tell them what to do, least of all lib's and Biden. But they are really the sheep being led to covid slaughter by blindly following their willful ignorance, arrogance, and disinformation delusions to their "own the lib's" grave.

We stopped caring at the bribing: the rest, up to the firing, has been because we care about the rest of the people, you dumb, self-centered, pretentious bitch.

The Delta wave has thinned the ranks of certain professions like evangelical pastors and right-wing talk show hosts.

Rob Skiba, age 52, from Dallas, Texas, was a weird combination of quasi-Scientologist, flat-earth believer, anti-vaxxer and film producer. He wrote books and produced "virtual church" videos in which he expounded upon his theories about how the earth was populated by a race of superhumans before The Flood wiped them all out.

Rob had a large community of Flat-Earth Christian followers that bought his books and watched his videos.

Here's Rob's explanation of why he believed the earth is flat:

I couldn't follow his ramblings about the Bible and alien invaders:

Along with his other strange beliefs, he got on the anti-vax wagon:
870a07_40068a3ae39b47d8be9532e19f65cece~mv2.png

A group of these conspiracy nutjobs are promoting "depopulation theory" that says that vaccines are being given to people because rich people like Bill Gates have a plot to massively reduce the Earth's population:
Fact Check-COVID-19 vaccines are not a ‘depopulation plan’ [Reuters]

Rob indulged in depopulation theory and Pfizer vaccine conspiracy theories:
870a07_68b65f07f8ca4711867e4aebda58290a~mv2.png

It was often difficult to follow Rob's convoluted theories but he promoted all sorts of anti-vax and COVID-19 conspiracy theories:

One would hope that karma would find Candace Owens but since she works at Fox News, she is vaccinated, unlike Rob:

870a07_e41d58c6c88d414d925dd56c5c38de96~mv2.png

And let's throw in a little End-Timer stuff before we get to the thoughts and prayers phase of this:
870a07_146f429951e94c079dba5de47979385e~mv2.png

Uh oh. by early September, Rob is in the hospital with COVID-19. Somewhere in a Dallas ICU, the medical staff got an informative lecture from Rob's friends and family on the "new protocol" to treat COVID-19:

Ventilator time:

His flat-earther evangelical friends want thoughts and prayers, of course:

But, of course, after 6 weeks of being in the hospital with COVID-19, Rob died:
870a07_02c3aeda646748b186a68f260ebcc709~mv2.png

In spite of Rob's COVID-19 illness and death, his Flat-Earth conspiracy theorist friends and followers are out there posting their nonsense which discourages people from getting vaccinated.

^ It blows my mind that some people would actually think that God would murder their friend in a long, horrible, painful death just to get them to 'wake up'.

We have to remember though that many people only worship the vengeful, angry God because it gives them permission to be the worst people instead of the best. While they call themselves christians, most of them only know the old testament God, the writings of St. Paul and the hellfire promised in Revelations.

While they call themselves christians, most of them only know the old testament God, the writings of St. Paul and the hellfire promised in Revelations.

In the US, they're called "Old Testament Christians" which is an oxymoron that pretty much sums up their beliefs.

At what point did the mission of so many evangelicals become punishment of their fellow citizens and to get us all killed?

Mr Skiba's story is an example of so many of the things that are wrong with evangelicals - the decline in membership, the move toward charismatic mumbo-jumbo paranoia over education and exegesis, and an obsession with escatology.

And sadly, these are the same problems that are seen in the Republican Party.
