Three Fayetteville family members lost to coronavirus in less than two weeks [WRAL]

In less than two weeks, a family in Fayetteville lost a father, a mother and a daughter to coronavirus.

Earlier this month, they were all laid to rest together in a single funeral...

"They were in bed together, and he woke up and said, 'I can't wake Maxine up.' She was actually dead, but he said, ‘I can't wake her up,’" recalled Snow.

The next day, Jake Hoff went to a local hospital. His oldest daughter, Pam Hoff, was also sick with coronavirus and so was his youngest child, Teresa Hoff.

None had received the COVID-19 vaccine...

Surviving family members said they hoped their story will encourage everyone to get vaccinated.

We were all in our 20s and we all had that nothing-to-lose spirit that only young people can have.

No parent sends their child off to college believing that they could die... whether it's from alcohol poisoning, meningitis or now, COVID-19.

The shame of it all is that if he had only listened to his mother and gotten at least one of the shots, he would be alive today. He wouldn't have gotten so terribly ill with COVID-19 and he would have been less likely to get the secondary infection that ultimately killed him.

At least his parents donated his organs to save other lives.

Something the woman, who has posted several pro-Trump and anti-Biden posts on her TikTok page, might not have been aware of is producing, selling or purchasing those fake vaccine cards is a federal offense.

Interesting that can happen. I assumed it would have infected the recipent to transplant organs from someone who died of Covid.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like he died of some sort of neurological event like a stroke or encephalitis. If he contracted COVID-19 in the first couple of days with college roommates, it was probably 5-6 weeks ago, so his primary viral infection had resolved.

Glad these two will soon be out of the health care field.

I'd place a bet to say that their soon-to-be coworkers are probably glad to see them go, too.
