That's happening in Canada, too, especially in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Alberta has declared a medical state of emergency. Patients are being sent to other provinces, even to Newfoundland. The Alberta premier lifted all Covid mandates in June and Covid went rampant. Nurses there are taking care of up to 8 intubated patients at a time. The burn-out rate is phenomenal. ICUs are full and there are no beds for people who actually need a hospital bed.

Our Conservatives are becoming very like your right-wing Republicans, even to the point of wearing MAGA hats. Trump's influence is great. It's not confined to the United States.

How do these people work in health care and not believe in science and health care. WTF is wrong with them? Full vaccination was a condition of employment where I worked starting many years ago. Before I retired I worked for the largest hospital chain in St. Louis. I worked in I.T., I didn't work with patients. But I worked with people who did work with patients and everyone had to be vaccinated. When I first started, as a condition of employment, they took a lot of blood and ran tests for all my vaccination status. It turns out I had to get MMR. Good. Now I'm protected! Thank you.

Every year, as a condition of employment, everyone was required to get the flu vaccine. If you refused and didn't have a legimate reason - auf weidersehen. It didn't matter if you worked for them 40 years - no shot, no job. This policy has been in place for years. They now apply it to Covid vaccine, as they should - no shots, no job. Maybe, it's new policy at some places, but it has been the norm where I worked for a very long time.

So lady, you are not being treated "callous", you are not "being thrown under the bus". You are being treated as the non-compliant, insubordinate employee you are. You're putting patients and the people you with at risk out of arrogance and pride and stupidity. You got what you wanted. Have a Happy Karma party on the unemployment line.
