For the bolded part: pretty much. The old westerners that go to the poor Asian countries for the little girls and boys? I was in Vietnam at a club frequented by westerners in late 2009, and I was horrified seeing some older crusty guy dry humping a girl's leg. She probably was underage. This guy would never try that in America. People here would have lynched him.

My brother is a psychiatrist. He knows how the mind works and what motivates people. He has pedophiles as patients. And some pedophiles aren't actually pedophiles but people who are immature and can't get a woman their own age for a relationship. So they go trolling for underage children. Someone more mentally like them.

not all people that like asians are pedophiles but alot of white people that like asians have a weird obsession, i dont really know what my race is because some people sometimes ask me if im latino, sometimes asian sometimes, sometimes if im mediterranean sometimes if im mixed but i seem to attract a lot of white guys with asian/latino fetish and i would rather just be left alone because im my head i dont understand how someone can be so obsessed, for me there is attractive blacks,whites, east asians,arabs,native americans(most hispanics look native american),south asian,etc.

We are all aware that the racism against asians don't apply to every single case.

It's like the statement "Americans wear jeans". In a general case, it's true. We are a jean wearing culture. That said, I don't wear jeans. I also know a lot of people who also don't wear jeans. That doesn't mean the statement "Americans wear jeans" isn't true.

Here is an extreme example to make my point. Segregated south was extremely unfair and unjust for African Americans. At the same time, nobody is idiotic enough to say that ALL African Americans suffered prejudice on a daily basis. I'm sure we could dig out someone somewhere that didn't suffer prejudice. But the statement is still true.

So, again, what's your point with the statement?

As a Caucasian man, I read that article with a sense of amazement. I had no idea some Asians felt like that. Absolutely no idea. If anything, I?ve always been a little jealous of the Asian community?s close-knit structure and their incredible, ancient culture and history.

I?ve always thought that Asians had cause to be smug and feel superior. I?m NOT kidding. I mean, that article just fucked my whole world-view.

I've long noticed that a signficant number of Asians prefer to have relationships with Caucasians and no other racial groups. It seems to stem from a desire on a more general (not just sexual) level for Asian immigrants to the West to adapt to what they view as the successful or dominant socioeconomic group, to fit into this group as much as possible.

I agree it is bizarre considering the Asian heritage is quite rich, just as those of other races are quite intriguing in their own ways. Everyone has something nice to offer everyone else, yet some people choose to ignore that fact.

Interesting article, I saw a video online once that came to a similar conclusion. As an African-American I find many of the sex symbols in life are White while black ones feel sexy by conditions.

It's all about which editor, publisher, producer, etc. deems which model or person to be "sexy."

Yes. I know. Shanghai had public drag shows and same-sex "weddings" in public with like 3000 people attending the festival in that entire week that was dedicated to gay pride. They are clearly in the closet and so anti-gay because you are only full of pride if you march or move from one street to another. I don't think I was wrong for equating gay pride festivals with gay pride parades.

At least the gay communities in those countries are starting to make themselves heard, little by little. As time passes, and more parades and festivals pass, they will demand more and more respect and equal rights, rather like what happened over the years in places in the West, like the US.

So... (somewhat off-topic, but related...) I wonder when countries in Africa will start to follow suit (aside from South Africa)? And South America? It would be interesting to see how far "out" gays are in countries throughout the world, like a side-by-side comparison.

As a Vancouverite, I can travel the transit system and admire all sorts of ethnicities.

We need more blacks as we have a healthy representation of Asians and Hispanics.

The game playing in the so-called gay community isn't worth it, and a waste of my limited resources and I'm not impressed with the gay community as a whole anyway.

I was in a gay bar awhile ago, and I overheard one white guy at another table talking about needing to get another "nigger" b/f as he had split up with his last one. I was appalled. I have no doubt that he felt, due to his "familiarity" with black men, he felt he could use the word. However, he was sitting at a table of all white guys.

I regret not saying anything to him.

The n word is offensive no matter who what race the person who says it is and no matter what context it's used in. Also, that patron's overall attitude needs a serious adjustment. Disgusting. How much would you bet it was this moron's attitude and lack of respect for other people that finally drove his previous boyfriend away? Yes, some Asian guys are (somehow) attracted to only white men, and at least in my experience, it seems to be Asian men who aren't originally from Canada that have this view. Some Asian guys do like other Asians and some are into older white guys. I agree with the comments about how Asians are at the bottom of the heirarchy; I've seen so many ads and profiles that say "sorry not into Asians" and it annoys me. Similarly, when older white men hit on me online, they believe that since I'm Asian, I therefore must be attracted to them too, which isn't the case.

I'm Chinese and was born in Vancouver and the idea of being strictly attracted to one race seems simply bizarre and stupid to me. I'm totally open to being with anyone but it is true that more Asian men are in the closet, which, being out, I'd rather not get myself into (from experience).

Anyhoo, I don't really have much else to say except that I don't see how it's possible to be completely turned off by an entire race -- which in and of itself has all sorts of different types of people -- is something people claim they can't control, as if it's genetically impossible or something.
