^ Wow, Herr Weingut! Another gr8 find! ..| 'Sugar Creek' remind me a lot of 'It's a Beautiful Day.' (You know… <sings> 'White. Bir-r-r-rd… She must fly-y-y-y…') Any connection?

San Francisco must have been amazing in those days, too – the 'Sixties'… Haight Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, the Fillmore Auditorium, the Avalon Ballroom, the Family Dog, the Matrix, the Troubadour, the Keystone Korner… so many other, sweet places to hear the music (and to do the drugs) that shaped not only that generation, but also those to come…

How old did you say you were again, anyway?

'They don't make stationery like this where I'm from/So fragile, so refined/So I sniff, and I lick your envelope/And fall to little pieces every time/I wonder what clothes you wear to school/I wonder how you decorate your room/I wonder how you touch yourself/And curse myself for being across the sea…/Why are you so far away from me?/I need help, you're way across the sea/I could never touch you/I think it would be wrong/I've got your letter/You've got my song…' ~ Rivers Cuomo

OK, I promise, that's my last reference – however oblique (or pervy) – to Japan for a while (or at least until the next cataclysmic earthquake/tsunami/potential nuclear meltdown…). Let's all think Happy Thoughts about Jacking Off, shall we?

I know, I will…

And to all my new 'viewers' – all twenty, or so, of you – Wilkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! ようこそ!Circle Jerk!

Seriously, join in – post a 'Merrie Melody' of your own (the rules are practically non-existent), make a comment, anything… I don't mind keeping the thread alive, when I have the time ('singlehandedly' if necessary), but it's also nice to know I'm not just doing it in a vacuum…

(And, no, that last bit is not some elaborate pun, referencing 'Penis Pumps' – but, yeah, the 'singlehandedly' was meant as a joke!) Cheers!

Sugar Creek is no San Francisco group. They were from Boston like
Ford Theatre, Earth Opera, Ill Wind, Orpheus, Beacon Street Union,
Quill, Ultimate Spinach....

Although never as famous as the bigger bands from the Bay Area in the late
sixties, and despite that many of them split after only one or two albums, two
handfuls of those Massachusetts' acts matched the very best Frisco bands
in terms of individuality, creativity & acid inspiration:

I said nothing. But still 33. No surprise - don't forget: there are teenagers
around with outstanding taste and passion for Westcoast & Psychedelic
from the late sixties...

That's no shame. Many well hungs use them to enter the royal 10plus-league... :king:

^_^ First off, I need to make another correction (I've really been messing up lately) – as far as 'Boredoms' is concerned (above) that was Eye Yamatsuka's chief collaborator Keiji Haino (not the band's amazing, young drummer Yoshimi) introducing their segment at the 2001 Fuji Rock Festival, and, similarly, I should have said that was 'Eye, Keiji, Yoshimi and a whole lot of other drummers' for the vid 77BOARDRUM. Mille pardons.

Now, what did I say was the band's name?

Howard Devoto (formerly of the 'Buzzcocks') with his new band – from a Peel Session, 1978…

Phew – last entry on this clearly over-whelmed page! Let's all give thanks, as we move the thread along…
