  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

This Forum is full of hate

the truth is the majority of any religion DOES NOT follow these books (Bible, Quran) word for word

And this means what - that the rules don't exists because people choose to ignore them?

Er...Then why do I hear so much this so-called gay community....? Weird.

Er.. you would know if you have read the entire post. Again the gay community is merely the sum of those are gay.

Sure, there isn't. Ever heard of the little Red Book? Mien Kampf? Nietche? But if it makes you feel any better...

And what does that have to do with the "gay community" you referenced? Did these books derive from the relgion of homosexuality?

Yeah, in badly translated versions. Yeesh....

Says you

Isn't secularism in opposition to religion? Weird...I thought it was because Christians were being as understanding as they say they are...

Um, it's not in opposition....that is if enough people don't want it to be. Apprently, that's the way things work now. Secondly, I am saying that an increase in secularism, not Christian or religious compassion, is responsible for the strides in gay rights. Still weird?

I love when people hit for fallacious thinking without realizing that the fallacies apply to them...

WTF are you talking about?

Say what you will, there is no single person, place, thing, or idea that has damaged the view of homosexuality more than religion. Period.

You want to know why I hate Christianity? Try and deny it and say it isn't true if you will, but I am firmly convinced that we, homosexuals, live our lives as second class citizens because of a little black book that condemns us (and it's equivalent in some other religions). Before Christianity came to many parts of the world, homosexuals weren't persecuted and it was widely accepted; mainly in the Americas and Europe.

NOBODY is going to tell me that I'm corrupt in the eyes of some made-up deity, and then they rule the world with an iron fist over the world governments, corrupting people's minds with fairy tales and hypocritical dogma. NOBODY is going to deny me my basic human rights and then tell me my actions are immoral and unclean, then try to save me.

This forum is full of hate? You start spouting Christian ideals and your damned bigoted opinions and bible thumping and expect people that are persecuted, executed, and denied their rights because of your beliefs to just roll over and play nice? Bullshit.

I literally have tears of frustration running down my face right now because of your stupid religious beliefs and the constant pushing of it into our faces. It's my damn right to hate and be angry at people and ideas that tell me I'm less of a human being because of who I choose to show my love to. Fuck your bigoted religion.

I don't care if I'm banned for saying that, and to hell with it; it needed to be said.

Excuse me I have to go calm myself down.

Amen!

As I've said before, it's like these morons showing up at an incest / rape survivors board and wanting to spew "tolerance" and "don't persecute us", as enthusiasts of incest fetish and rape fantasies.

Hey, if they wanna go be all Christian and loving, go ahead and hang out with Christians they should.

Oh, that's right. For the most part they can't because they are despised by their own kind.

This forum is full of hate. All groups need a bogeyman to be against.

The Gay population's bogeyman is Christianity.

I joined this forum to learn more about the Gay Culture and Gay Issues and hopefully, make coming out a easier time for myself.

But what I found was I was wrong about a few things.

Gay people aren't always the innocent victims as portrayed on the news and Gay people can be just as hateful as any straight person.

Bullshit.

Care to quote me the last time a gay group has gone out and committed "hate crimes" against a Christian? You know... a nice Matthew Shepard kinda thing.

You really need to learn what the difference between oppression, denial, power, and control my friend.

who said gay people are innocent victims or less "hateful" than anyone ? NON.

NO group of people is better then any other groups. Its depends on the person.

This sounds like you're talking for the sake of talking. Your grievance is that a handful of people wrote rules against homosexuality? When you go back to the original books of these respective religions, you can count on one hand the number of people who wrote condemnation of homosexuality. Whether or not that condemnation is recognized varies from person to person. Some believe it, some don't. It's not like an entire colony of Christians got together and decided to condemn homosexuality, these texts were written individually.

It's funny how some people can be cavalier and dismissive of "those handful of people" in regards to this issue. But why do those same "handful of people" suddenly have authority to speak on any other dogma in their given religion? Like I always hear from those arguing against the orthodox, if they are wrong about this issue, what else are they wrong about?

This is hopeless. If you think the whole of Christianity is out to get your rights, then you are paranoid.

Those Christians you hear about in the news are the minority. Most of us mind our own business.

We don't want to oppress anyone, we don't want power and we don't want control of everything.

Most Christians I know vote democrat anyway.

Maybe it's time the "poor persecuted x-tians" on this board petition JUB for a new forum, a "No X-tian Bashing, Non X-tian critical, All Things X-tian".

That way no one can say anything bad, critical, true, false, or indifferent about x-tianity.

Those of us with a more realistic view of it, can just avoid it then, instead of it spread across 14 forums.

Just a thought.

I'm not gonna touch this. You are just baiting any Christian who comes along to attack you. Moving along.

I'm quite serious. Since apparently you are seeking a no-negative, no responsibility, no critical, place of x-tians, maybe you'd be happier if JUB created a "safe haven" for you.

I'd be happy if you atheists given us some respect. Not treat us like lesser beings.

I'm not an atheist. However I am a firm believer in looking realistically at your faith, spirituality, and religion. Those that seem to have such issues with things I've found are much like homophobes..... very insecure with their own faith and beliefs.

*shrug*

Like the way you've denounced homosexuals who exhibit poor behavior?

I didn't really understand what you meant by the first paragraph, but I consider pedophilia a mental illness, not a sexuality or "poor behavior"... I wouldn't consider them to be "a part of the gay community" (if there even is one,) I kind of just lump them into the dangerously insane category

What are ya then? If you are agnostic, then that's like a few baby steps from being an atheist anyway

I find no problem with examining your beliefs, I do that all the time.

But when people attack you and your beliefs and religion like a pack of attack dogs, that's when they have gone too far.

waitwaitwait marley, I do get what you mean now hahaha... yeah it seems biased of me, but really what do you classify as a crazy christian? their views, as skewed as they may be CAN be supported by the bible.

write them off if you must, but realize it's not the same as gays and pedophiles.

Instead of creating a new board here, how about join a religion forum and discuss the status of homosexuality, where the majority don't have a stake in homosexuality being acceptable to whatever the particular religion may be. I've witnessed them and they aren't all rosy. It's no surprise that most on here would believe that their religion is favorable toward same-sex relationships, silent at best. I feel like I've just entered the twilight zone where the overwhelming majority feel that homosexuality is acceptable to the various religions. Just about ever religion that concerns itself with procreation and transcendence, appears to have something bad to say about homosexuality, albeit many of the "adherent" ignore and cherry pick. I suppose it's a good thing that there is some cherry-picking, but at the same time, the people doing so can't be said to be following the religion authentically. Perhaps if they knew that this is how they are seen, they wouldn't take so much personal offense, claiming "their" religion is being bashed.

I hate when someone claims I'm cherry-picking. Not that many people follow the bible 100%. Why do you think they are different denominations? Because people see the Bible's words differently than others.

I hate when atheists say(Not claiming you are one, unless you are)"You have to be a Fundamentalist to be a real Christian" Like I'm gonna listen to an atheist tell me how to be a real Christian.
