  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

This Forum is full of hate

It is that kind of self indulgent selfishness for which gays have become known and not exactly for no reason, either.

And now we have gotten to the crux of the matter. Your own self-loathing. It's what fuels so much angst and dissatisfaction. Learn to love yourself, for if you cannot love yourself, you cannot love thy neighbor as Jesus said, in Matthew 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' If you hate yourself, you hate your neighbor, thus violating one of the two laws Jesus gave his followers to abide by. In fact as he said about the two laws, "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Violating one of his laws violates them all.

Waiter: Can I get you something to drink sir?

Patron: No, I hate everything you have.

Waiter: Something to eat perhaps?

Patron: I hate your food. You have nothing I like. And I don't like you. I hate the way you treat me.

Waiter: May I ask why you are here?

Patron: Great! Now you're telling me to leave! Are you kicking me out.

Waiter: No sir. I'm just curious why you are here if you hate everything about this place.

As amusing as that passage was (and it truly was amusing) it has nothing to do with what is actually going on here. I and others have expressed a valid concern about an aspect of this forum which we believe ought to be addressed. As members here, we do have a right to add our input when necessary, whether you like it or not.

It does not mean that we are dissatisfied with the entire forum or else we obviously would not bother posting here. Get real.

You asked where I got the idea that a poster was telling me to leave and then you answered your own question with this passage. It seems to me that you are simply looking for ways to bait people and not really contributing anything. How sad for you.

Some people will swear up and down that the sky is purple, even when you drag them to a field and disprove them. Some people will shut their eyes so that you can't prove them wrong. Others have never seen the sky. The rest were taught that the sky was purple from their parents, who heard it from their parents, who heard it from their parents. Why would they want you to come along and shatter their world with new information, especially since they'd have to find something else to bitch about the moment they acknowledge the partiality of their truth. A racist doesn't wanna admit that some blacks are intelligent. A sexist doesn't wanna admit that women have helped advance medicine. A bigot won't come out and pronounce themselves a bigot, they ask questions worded in a way that brings everything back to their truth in one big circle.](*,)

Kudos to you and King for being so tenacious, I'm running out of steam and hope that these people are going to ever rise above the restricted level of thinking that they're comfortably stuck at. If nothing else, the world will prove them wrong, or none of this will ever apply to them and they can sleep easier knowing they hold the key to all truths.

You hit the nail right on the head there!;)

Well, I am not muslim. Not even historically. (well I don't know that, maybe my ancestor back in Africa fucked a middle eastern man and had a baby who later became an American slave?...i should look into that)

You didn't really hit a nerve. I just find you tasteless, intolerant, and tackless.

Yes, I do have Muslim relatives so it's nothing that should surprise you.
(actually I'm not an asshole, i do feel bad for telling you that, but i was fired up, anyway, believe what you want and me what i want, i have nothing against you personally, and i don't want to to be harmed either).

You seem to be at a loss about what debate means my friend. You take any challenge to your statements as "an attack on your religion", and yet refuse to debate the article/fact/idea presented. Instead, you cower behind "OMG! Haters! I feel oppressed."

What has your religion done for gay people? Name one thing. Seriously.

I know what it has done for me personally on a spiritual level and I am gay. I know that the Riverside Church in Manhattan has been involved with AIDS activism as well as gay rights and civil rights activism for decades. I know the Episcopal Church defied the reactionary elements of their flock in order to ordain a gay bishop. I know that my own church in New York has members of P-Flag in the congregation. I know that my church in Paris hosts an AIDS organisation in its building. I know that I personally and my Churches as organisations in New York, Paris and Geneva have given more money to gay organisations than you will ever give. So what the hell have you done for gay people? I can assure you that your nasty hateful bitterness is doing nothing for us now.

Name one thing. Seriously.

Thankyou for reminding us that the Rome in its entirety was built the same day they stood up and said "let's build it."

Of Course! You're right! Why don't those pro-gay Christians stand up today, then we will have won the anti-gay war by tomorrow! We haven't been able to get married yet because no Christians have supported us. As soon as they do, which of course they haven't been, we'll be able to get married!! How could I miss this logic??

and you point is..... Oh thats right you don't have a point so you will misconstrue what ever I say to suit your purpose

Sounds like calling out to me??? NO??? Am I wrong???? Correct me if I am wrong????

As you so gracefully put it Very typical and does not surprise me the least

I do not understand what you wish to say here...

Muslim: So, how's the dating scene?

Bear: Pretty rough, everybody wants an 18 year old twink.

Muslim: You're a handsome guy, what's wrong with them?

Bear: {brushes it off} What about you, any plans for Friday?

Muslim: Nah, for some reason, I don't feel like I fit in at the bars or clubs, I can't even get any play on the chat sites and forums.

Bear: Sounds rough, you should come hang out with me and the guys Saturday.

Muslim: You sure they won't mind you bringing a Muslim? I'll probably be the only one there.

Bear: Are you kidding me? What do you think, I hang out with a bunch of 12 year olds who are glued to CNN? Some of them may make a few rude jokes or comments, but none of them will judge you based on what they see on the tv or read in the papers. They're not morons

Muslim: You know, for an overweight, brunette, jewish handicap, you're pretty cool and open-minded.

Bear: Same to you, I swore when I first saw you approach me I was gonna speed-dial the National Guard. Amazing what you'll learn when you pull your head out of your ass and think outside the box, eh?

Very nice. Well done.:=D:

No I certainly don't think I am the only nice person. If you would have read my post maybe you would have understood where I am coming from. I am not judging good christians or bad christians. What I am saying is due to the fact that the gay hating christians get all the press of course gays are going to have a problem with them.

Secondly what I am expressing is, why do so many supposed good christians let these terribly biggoted people be their voice. Why are you not standing up in numbers and denouncing them

And another thing were have I stated any where that I hate????

I never said you did. I will repeat this one last time for you:

I never called you any names. I never accused you of anything. I never even addressed you so that you would not confuse me with those posters whom you were exchanging with. A pesar de todo you still included me in one of your all encompssing posts, and so here I find myself now. OK?

To answer your question, I do not allow anyone to speak for me as is evidenced by the amount of time I have spent here defending my position. The fact that there are those of you who wish to lump all religions and all religious people together into one group is your own shortcoming. It is not my job to paint for you a picture that generalising and jumping to conclusions is wrong. That was your Mommy and Daddy's job.

LOL. Hate? Me hate radical christians? No. I view them as wolves. Would I hate a wolf for biting me? No, it is in the wolfs nature. So as it is with radical groups. Thru education and enlightenment comes acceptance.

I noticed you failed to provide a single, solitary, lone, one thing that your religion has done to benefit gays specifically. Why is that?

I have already answered that question. If you are not reading well enough, that sounds like a job for your local Head Start program. Not my problem.

Preaching to me, are you? That is rich...a religion hater preaching religion. Well done! You have won the Ironic Post of the Day Award!

I had brought this to enjoy, but it looks like I'll just sleep on it instead.

I have already answered that question.

I apologize I missed your post, sorry. Thank you for that.

Would your chastise a Frenchman for speaking to someone in English to try to communicate? Every Christian I have known accepts the bible as "God's word". How can someone who merely quotes "God's Word" in order to help you understand a concept be considered "ironic".

What I find "ironic" is that I, a non-Christian know the bible better than 95% of Christians themselves, and what it says, what it really said, and what others claim on its behalf it says.

Perhaps I missed your intent. I apologise for that.

I do not deny that there are religious people whose faith is defined by how many people they can hate. I am not one of those people and it would surprise you to know how many others are not like that either.

I do not claim to know all there is to know about the Bible, but I am learning more all the time. I am not one of those people who need to utilise the Bible to justify my hatred for others. I know there are those who do that. But there are a great many more of us who do not than you or many of your associates here give us credit for.

Re: This thread is full of hate

congrats! if this thread gets off the ground, there'll be more where that all came from

WHO CALLED IT, in post number 5ive!!!

9 pages on such a silly thing as the R word? lollololololololooool

everyone likes to hate. it makes people feel power, hate happiness rage love and euphoria are what we're naturally drawn to.

ask yourself: what enriches your time on this earth the most out of those? what would you like to spend your time on? I guess that might be a loaded question, but everyone's different.

And I believe you, as well as others "over-react" to some of the "Christian bashing" you claim goes on here. Your post on what your church and others do is going to win far more respect by many gay people than just saying, "stop hating". A.) I think the word "hate" is overused.

When many here talk about "radical or conservative Christians", that doesn't mean all Christians. But much as the radical Isalmists get all the attention, so too does the extreme gay hating "fringe" of Christianity. Finally moderate Christians are starting to speak out on gay issues, including the Unitarians, Episcopalians, and a few others. Think about it. On TV news shows which Christian gets put on the air? The gay friendly, love all, liberal/moderate Christian, or the Pat Robertson/Fred Phelps/Southern Baptist homophobe? I'd say 9 times outta 10, it's the anti-gay one.

Then the Christian groups (at least in the past 2 or 3 elections) have decided to energize their political power by targeting, and demonizing gay people. By having their parish goes to go to the polls to actively try to undermine gay rights. THIS is the face of Christianity, because frankly MANY, MANY Christian churches decided to make it a litmus test that their sheep vote for George W. Bush and the Republicans. The backlash that Christians are getting (IMHO) is strongly due to this latest political adventism.
