Some people will swear up and down that the sky is purple, even when you drag them to a field and disprove them.
Some people will shut their eyes so that you can't prove them wrong. Others have never seen the sky. The rest were taught that the sky was purple from their parents, who heard it from their parents, who heard it from their parents. Why would they want you to come along and shatter their world with new information, especially since they'd have to find something else to bitch about the moment they acknowledge the partiality of their truth. A racist doesn't wanna admit that some blacks are intelligent. A sexist doesn't wanna admit that women have helped advance medicine. A bigot won't come out and pronounce themselves a bigot, they ask questions worded in a way that brings everything back to their truth in one big circle.
Kudos to you and King for being so tenacious, I'm running out of steam and hope that these people are going to ever rise above the restricted level of thinking that they're comfortably stuck at. If nothing else, the world will prove them wrong, or none of this will ever apply to them and
they can sleep easier knowing they hold the key to all truths.
