Time to Discuss the 2016 Presidential Election

I finally found an article which agrees with my opinion that electing Hillary means the end of our democracy on the national level, and he does even not mention the flood of democrat-immigrants. If you want to know why voting for Trump, as bad as he is , is better than voting for Hillary, see this.It is the dismal future of our country. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016...ve-chosen-our-leaders-for-rest-our-lives.html

As you are aware from my other posts on this forum I am appreciative of Professor Buckley's published works, also recognising that he demonstrates an easy willingness to paint the American political spectrum in black, and white terms that speak to his prejudices.

Having read through the cited article twice I can discover nothing of value upon which I can comment.

I am not one for feeling squeemish simply because Fox News publishes a personal opinion, nor do I not relish reading opinions that are devoid of any substance worth my consideration.

I am always waiting to be challenged by your posts, for I thrive on opinions that challenge my understandings.

Honestly. Who pitches his candidate as the "hold your nose and just do it" pick? Who?

That's not even a convincing compromise pitch. It's just plain old tacit concession that your man blows, and not in the good way.

A clear case of choosing the lesser of two evils. The logical approach is to focus on the policies or factors which you think are most important. I regard the choice as an existential one for the future of American democracy and free enterprise. What could be more important?

To be honest, it appears the people suffering that conflict the most appear to be traditional (as opposed to evangelical) conservatives.

after Romney's defeat by Obama in 2012, the Republican muckety-mucks got together and issued an "autopsy" about that election. Did the rank and file pay any attention. . .NO. And, now, it seems, that those same muckety-mucks are again issuing an "autopsy" but this time before the election: http://www.politico.com/magazine/st...vil-war-republicans-rnc-future-214396?ref=yfp Will anything come of it? I seriously doubt it!

Remember Trump's attack on the Khans? Apparently, he had no idea what a 'Gold Star Family' was:

Donald Trump apparently had no idea what a “Gold Star family” was when he decided to engage in a feud with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, shortly after receiving the Republican presidential nomination this summer.

According to a new report from New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman, Trump frustrated campaign aides when he lashed out at the Khans, parents of a fallen Muslim American soldier, who criticized Trump on stage at the Democratic National Convention.

“You do know you just attacked a Gold Star family?” an adviser reportedly asked Trump, who simply replied, “What’s that?”

This forum seems strangely quiet as the Hillaty campaign implodes. I don't feel like gloating as i have mixed feelings. Hopeful that she will not win, but wary that he will. The good news is that her loss will postpone the demize of our democracy.

Lots of Jubbers are probably busy carpooling early voters to their precincts. It seems quiet because they're out helping to bank the votes, but I'm confident they'll be back in a week or so to discuss the final tally.

Nonsense

The 'Demize' (sic) of American democracy has already occurred over the last year, culminating in the Director of the FBI contravening the Hatch Act with nothing even of substance or import to show for it.

But it is the last week of the campaign and at this point everything has been said and done.

538 has Hillary at 75.7% chance of winning as of today.

Too busy looking to see how Trump's underage rape and education fraud cases go.

And waiting to find out how bogus his wealth is with those tax statements, and waiting to find out how much he's been paid by Putin.

Talk about a farce.

^ And his lawsuits against the women accusing him of 'improper behaviour'.

I'm sure he has this written down somewhere to remind him every day: "If you can't beat 'em, sue 'em."

I certainly have been volunteering, and yes, even taking shifts driving people to the polls, which no doubt Ben thinks is voter fraud. I myself voted the first day of early voting. Which no doubt Ben also thinks is voter fraud.

^Clearly there is disagreement between various United States intelligence agencies on the matter of whether Russia has been "intervening" in the ongoing presidential contest.

I quote:

In the end, the Department of Homeland Security and The Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued the statement on Oct. 7, saying: "The U.S. intelligence community is confident that the Russian Government directed the recent compromises of emails from U.S. persons and institutions, including from U.S. political organizations. ... These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the U.S. election process."

I've noticed this morning that the Republican narrative is that Clinton is constantly surrounded with investigations.

So, a Republican Congress has spent hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars to investigate Clinton and are now complaining that she's constantly under scrutiny.

And now they've got Comey in their back pocket.

Hopefully the people have the brains to send these fuckers packing next week.

The democrat FBI has 5 separate investigations going on concerning Hillary's circle. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ally-one-Clinton-s-inner-circle-families.html

This is in addition to the investigations of the emails, the cover up, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation etc, etc. There will have to be an investigation of Hillary's allowing Russia to get control of US uranium while making contributions to the Clinton Foundation.

You realise the Daily Mail is UK's Breitbart, except they've been doing it far longer.

Throw enough shit and maybe something sticks. But there's been half a billion in public money spent investigating allegations made against her and bill by the GOP that have proven baseless.

I remember they ran a story one time claiming that working women were causing Autism and another saying that oral sex was good because semen helped women with depression.

Or the headline 'Woman, 63, ‘becomes pregnant in the mouth’ with baby squid after eating calamari'
