Too Old for Pokemon?

I'm going on 22 the first of May and I must say that I'm right with you. The only difference is that I want Pearl. Come tomorrow, (if Wal-Mart has it in then)I'll be playing the latest in the franchise!

I'm gonna get Pearl too...I like being in the minority apparently :P

I'm getting Pearl at some point too, but I can't afford it now. I usually wind up with both versions of the pokemon games sooner or later.

I take it none of you play Pokemon competitively...
I take it you mean the TCG? well, if it helps i use to but now i play WoW TCG : /

Quanchi - The games that are like Elite Beat Agents are all sooo expensive though and i can't afford those japanese ones : / and Elite Beat Agents has terrible songs

Oh and i got pokemon Pearl because diamond was sold out .

Hey, The General. I love your avatar! That's cause I love Mario Kart 64!! Haven't played it in a while...

But to get back on topic, last night they actually had Pearl so I bought it! I must say while it's a decent game, the only thing that has me hooked right now is the new animations for the special moves.

Does anybody think that once you get the running shoes it feels like your character running in slow motion? I can't WAIT to get the bike!

Oh yeah, and what character did you guys pick? I picked the boy this time. I picked the girl in Ruby though. ^_^

you can never be too old for pokemon. the old shows are classics (the new ones kinda went down the drain). the game itself is so much fun, i have only played through the first two sets though (red/blue, gold/silver) but i could play through them again and have just as much fun each time! lol ;)

Ack, my EB games didn't get their whole shipment of games so I have to wait for Pearl. I apparently got some kind of bonus though... Don't know what it is. Hopefully it's the Stylus.

I don't know which starter pokemon I should choose. I mean I like the grass type, but it looks ridiculous in it's final stage. I liked Blazikin enough... so the monkey thing might not be a bad choice. I perhaps I should go with a Water Pokemon as, well I haven't in a while. But Pelkia[sp?] is Water/Dragon ( I feel the pearl owners got shafted because, the Dialga is liek Steel/ Dragon, talk about ultimate fighter )

Anyone know where I can go see pictures of the pokemon in the game?

How did the Pearl owners get shafted? Steel/Dragon might sound cool but it has two weaknesses, Fighting and Ground and maybe Dragon but I'm not sure if Steel is resistant to Dragon too...? The Water/Dragon has one weakness and that's Dragon.

Serebii has tons of pictures and information.

I'm feeling the whole weirdness with the starter thing in this generation, too. Blaziken kicked ass, and Infernape looks like it could also kick ass, so I dunno.

On the other hand, penguins are awesome.

But I've always been loyal to the grass starter, ever since Bulbasaur.

](*,)

I went with Piplup. I just wanted a water starter, and penguins are awesome.

I'm trying to get in the wi-fi so I can post my friend code, but my router is so old I don't think it's ever going to work.

and electric, and grass....ice. (Ice would rape Palkia!)

Palkia looks cooler though.

Let me take you to school real quick.

It's true that electric is good against Water but I'm pretty sure it sucks against Dragon so it evens out. And Grass is good against Water but terrible against Dragon: Negated. And lastly, Ice is great against Dragon, but not so good against Water. Negated.

I'm pretty sure that Electric is bad against Dragon but I know the rest of what I said is 100% true.

So it still stands, Palkia (sp?) probably has only one weakness and that's Dragon.

I went with Piplup, but I always go with water types on my 1st play.

I went with Piplup as well. My younger brother choose Chimchar and my friend picked Turtwig so we all have the three.

Is it just me, or are most of the new Pokemon underwhelming just in terms of appearance? I mean, I've always been the kind of person that had to have the 'coolest' looking Pokemon on hand, yet there isn't much to choose from in terms of that 'cool factor'.

I guess they just figure that we all kept our old Pokemon games and can just transfer in good ol Charmander and co. Meanwhile, my Gamestop is completely out of all the old Pokemon games and the prices seem unusually high at Best Buy and other places now.

I'll post my friend code tomorrow though.

Here's my friend code:

Player: Spenser
Code: 4639 5443 6746

PM me if u add me.

added everyone from above...

having so much fun training my chimchar and the rest of the team right now... finally got my second badge... not so hard since i got my chimchar against the grass gym...

Name : Denzel
ID# : 3479 9020 7819

I'm headed for my third badge. With the abra I traded for and evolved, and my Staravia, i'm not too worried about the fighting type.

I'm also adding every friend code.

Ok, this is a little off topics, but is anyone else tempted to stick the exculsive pokemon stylus up their ass? If you pre-ordered it you should have one.

Hmm...I haven't been tempted to do that. Then again, I didn't pre-order so I guess that's why lol

Gameboy 11 : Yeahhh...but Steel/Dragon is resistant to pretty much everything except Ground and Fighting ! Water/Dragon may only have one weakness but Steel/Dragon has many more resistances and immunities . I think
Dialga is more powerful in terms of type.

Effortless Pro : My favorite site for Pokemon is serebii.net . It's amazing, it has EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING Pokemon. And its Pokedex is the most comprehensive and analytical I've ever seen .

I just checked that site out and apparently the new generation really powers up the Ghosts and Bugs. Loads of new Ghost and Bug Pokemon, and many new, powerful Ghost & Bug attacks. That's good cos I feel that in the previous games those two types were way too much "behind".
