serebii.net is awesome. I always use it when i'm curious about something. They also have chats, one regular and one for the wi-fi. Overall it is an extremely useful website.

I'm also glad they powered up bugs and ghosts. Bugs pretty much fell by the wayside and ghosts did much the same. They were just sort of like extra types, but now it seems they have become a bit more useful.

Hmm...I wonder if I still have a Mew...I think I lost it when I had to start Emerald over thanks to my not-so-bright nephew messing with his gameshark on my game and erasing my game -_-

I'm slowly getting closer to being able to use pal park. Headed towards my seventh badge. And since I traded one of my extra azurill (I tend to catch things by accident in that place) for a level 1 Chimchar which is now a level 39 Infernape, that badge is going to be mine without a fight. I can't wait...except I never did finish the forced restart of Emerald I had to do...oh well. I'll just have to use the other games lol

Has anyone actually managed to battle online yet? I've seen a few friends online at the same time as me but it's almost like everyone is afraid to use voice chat. You don't even need the headset to do it. Although, when people do use it, the battles are that much more fun.

Japan Wants Your American Pokemans

Is it a seller's market for Pokemans? If you're one of the first batch of American players, you could luck out and get some rare monsters for little work thanks to the five million people who have the Japanese game. Japanese players, who've been Pokemanning up since September, are apparently willing to trade virtually anything for even the weakest English-language creatures.

Japanese players can't enter English characters for their Pokemon names. (And American players can't enter Japanese text.) English words are "cool" for some reason in Japan and since they need American players to trade their Pokemon to get ones with English names, they will make excellent deals (for Americans) to get English-named Pokemon. I believe the game has also sold around 6 million copies in Japan and probably about a million in the US so far, so, theoretically, the demand far outstrips the supply at this point, making sellers market.

Is this really what's going on? It seems like the most compelling explanation; having an English name on a Pokemon is probably more than enough reason for Japanese players, who likely have a surplus of "rare" Pokemans to trade, to try and snap them up. It's truly a global village. Now excuse me while I trade this Magikarp for a level 99 Palkia.

I'll have to put something extra up for a palkia. If that's the truth, getting pokemon to complete the pokedex will be all to easy. I already got a japanese turtwig, why not aim higher lol

I won't be getting Diamond/Pearl for awhile, since I don't have a DS...

I guess I'll have to play against most of my friends who have D/P with my Fire Red.

Do any of you guys think that they are running out of ideas? Some of the pokemon are just stupid. Remember Luvdisc from R/S? And Lickitung, of all pokemon, gets an evolution, while poor Kangeskhan still doesn't have a baby.

I don't they are running out of ideas...I just think they are having a hard time coming up with good ones. Luvdisc was one I was not surprised to see, actually. Just from a strange thought process, I expected a pokemon like that. Now a Lickitung evolution...that was odd when I first saw it. Kangaskhan they seem to have forgotten completely. There should have been a baby evolution long ago.

Haha...I just got my ass kicked by the Elite Four. Got all the way to the third one. You know, I went through the WHOLE game without an electric type on my team too...odd. It just seemed that electric was the easiest type to ditch when I had an egg to hatch. *shrug*

But yeah, fighting every trainer available in the game, I wasn't able to come close to taking down the third of the Elite Four. I need to make a trade for something really strong lol

I traded for a chimchar, which became a main part of my team. I also traded for a Kadabra in...I think the town with the first gym. The girl wanted a machop for her abra, and that abra is now a strong Kadabra. So they grew fast, which was a big help. Altho like I said, now I'm getting killed in the elite four.

I found three fossils underground, one of which I traded for the pearl fossil pokemon Shieldon. I also found a revive, sun stone, and heart scales. Other than that, mostly spheres I believe. I've also disarmed a whole bunch of traps, which has given me a lot of them but no idea what to use them for. I can't even afford the drill to make a secret base down there.

You know, something I really miss is the Match Call. Where gym leaders could call you up and be challenged again. I was never a fan of the Vs Seeker, only because it couldn't be used in gyms. *sigh* It will be a while before I can beat them. I just want to get pal park and be able to go after the other 300+ pokemon in the game, plus all the new side things. I may have rushed Diamond a bit to get there though...

Have you done any of the missions the old man who gave you the explorer kit, If I remember correctly after the 3rd mission he will give you the drill. Which versions had Match call for Gym Leaders, I remember the Cell Phone but I never had a Gym leader call me.

The place I really want to use the vs seeker is in that restaraunt with all those two on two battles. One couple in there gave me like $9000 after I beat them. Not to mention all that experience.

By the way, when underground, have you met up with any friends? Supposedly you can play like capture the flag and stuff but no one I know is ever on at the same time I am which sucks.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the old man lol. I've been trying to figure out how u r supposed to meet people underground. Something is supposed to happen when u meet 32 or something like that.

The match call was in emerald for sure, I can't remember if it was in others. The leaders didn't call you, but on the list an icon would appear next to their name when they wanted another challenge. It was very lucrative for exp.

So how is everyone that has it doing? I'm 27 hours in with 5 badges. My podex lists 103 pokemon, but I haven't even caught a box full yet, lol. I only have 5 of my 6 slots filled, but my strongest pokemon (Infernape) is about to grow to level 40. I'm trying to take my time with this game but I'm going faster than I would have thought.
