Too Old for Pokemon?

I thought I was taking my time, only to find myself with all 8 badges so soon. It's confusing with the pokedex counting each one we see instead of catch, but I looked it up, at serebii I think, and know why. In order to get the national dex and pokeradar(lets you see older pokemon and may give away position of shiny), you have to see all 150 in sinnoh. To get the missing Dialga or Palkia, depending on your version, you have to see Cynthia's grandmother in Celestic Town after capturing the one in your game. Other than that, beat every trainer and go to the optional places and you'll see them all. I only have to track down one last one, and i've got to use the freakin honey to do it.

I'm at 26 hours 4 bagdes and 86 in my Pokedex, I have about 8 pokemon at around level 30, and I believe I have caught a little over half a box. Thanks for the info Kigan, I haven't played a Pokemon game since Saphire, as for the Underground I belive it's for wireless communication but not WiFi so you have to be around a friend that has one of the games. BTW what specifically do you have to do to get the 5th Gym Leader in her Gym.

I'm at 11 hours with 2 badges and 56 in my pokedex with my Prinplup at level 30 and most pokemon at level 18-28. But It's only because I was just finishing Emerald took me a week.

Also someone traded me pichu level 55 for a my shellos level 9 the bad part is that the pichu doesn't take orders very well.:grrr:

glo - have you been to Celestic Town? To get there, you head north from Solaceon town. Where four Psyduck were blocking the route. Cynthia should have given you some medicine for them. You have to give it to them and go to Celestic. There you have to help Cynthia's grandma. Once you have finished that and she gives you an HM, then you can go to the 5th gym.

Ah, I remember. The only way to get the Pokemon Spritomb (Dark/Ghost) is to meet 32 people in the underground and then go to some rubble that used to be a tower. That's what the 32 people is about. Guess i'll be trading for that one.

Thanks, I had already managed to do it and get the badge, but I fell a bit dumb about it because I got to Celestic Town without using defog #-o. And small update after getting my 5th bagde my most powerful pokemon is a level 31 Luxray.

lol I finally gave up and went back for defog. Somehow I missed it so I had to make a little sidetrip.

I'm still trying to force stronger trainers to battle me with the Vs Seeker to help me take on the Elite Four. *sigh* It's a slow process.

What pokemon do you all hate fighting? For me it's Gyarados, Skunky and Bronzor. I don't know why but it just seems like they're almost impervious to everything. Oh and if I see one more goddamn Bidoof, I swear I'm gonna lose my mind!

Haha. I'm tired of running into Bidoof everywhere too lol. Gyarados is a pain in the ass. Stunky is dark, but fighting type attacks don't trump it like they should, and that ticks me off. Since I got and evolved my Chimchar, I haven't had issues with Bronzor. The only way to beat it is with fire, though I sometimes use Kadabra to beat one. I wish I could trade that thing and trade back so it would evolve. Trade evolutions are SUCH A PAIN. Especially when you trade for the Haunter in Snowpoint, and the thing has an Everstone so it won't evolve. That made me so mad!

Bronzor can be difficult to take out but they haven't truly pissed me off yet. Stunky has given me some trouble at times but also hasn't been a major pain in the ass yet. And like E. Pro when I have my Luxray no Gyarados can stop me.

I still can't believe I don't have an electric type on my team lol. I went through the whole game without it.

I had Shinx...it just never was very helpful to me. So whenever I got an egg to hatch, I ditched it. Oh well, that's not where the gap in my team for the elite four is anyway.

Whoo, I can't believe I did it. I actually managed to beat the Elite Four AND Champion despite my somewhat low-levelled team. They probably should have been higher level, but I pulled it off! Here is my team for anyone curious (all are at least one or two levels higher than when I fought the first one, but that's about it)

Empoleon: Level 50
Infernape: Level 57
Torterra: Level 47 (levelled several times with EXP share and trade boost)
Staraptor: Level 43
Roserade: Level 48
Kazaa(Kadabra): Level 52

The champion's strongest pokemon was level 66, so it took a very carefully planned strategy to finish it off, but it CAN be done lol

Thanks for the info on the champion. I didn't bother to buy a guide so it's nice to know what the strongest level will be.

We have 4 of the same pokemon, lol. 5 if you count Kadabra, only mine is an Alakazam. I don't have a sixth one yet but we think alike, lol.

What are you gonna do now that you beat it? Now that we can battle online and trade and all that there's more reason to keep playing after we beat the elite 4.

Well, there's over 300 for me to track down. Plus i've gotten quite a few evolution stones in the underground and an Old Amber. I've tracked down and caught two level 70 pokemon hidden off in caves.

I wish Kazza were an Alakazam, but I haven't had anyone to trade with to make it evolve. I'm going to start breeding for a good team, starting with getting a male ralts with a good nature to evolve into the Psychic/Fighting type Gallade. If it looks as good as what I saw online, i'm really going to like it.

Oh, and the Pal Park, SIX pokemon a day per game. That's it. I'm going to be doing that for a while to get the...48 (i think) pokemon unavailable in Diamond.

What types do the Elite Four and Champion use, I have my 7th badge and am starting to think about what team I'm taking with me.

Is it just or me, or do the latest games seem to be lacking, Pokemon wise. I can't find any Pokemon worth raising. They're all so blah. So far I have four. Infernape (duh), Murkrow, Gengar, and Manaphy. They're all over level fifty! (I'm not that pathetic.)

Does anyone know how to get that guy that's similar to Magikarp, and evolves into that pink snake thing?

I purchased Emerald a few days ago, mostly because I don't want to spend 150 bucks on a Nintendo DS and then dish out 50 bucks for the new pokemon game... Instead I dished out 50 for Emerald, which is so worth the 50 despite being old...er than Diamond/Pearl which have weird ass looking Pokemon.

In Emerald I am just about to visit my "Dad's" Gym. My team is as follows.
Breloom lvl 27
Mightyena lvl 26
Seviper lvl 28
Combusken lvl 28
Swellow lvl 28
Wynaut lvl 5

and in my PC Box I have
Aron lvl 23
Dustox lvl 23

I want to catch a cool water pokemon and electric pokemon. Oh and Cacnea. I love Cacnea. Any suggestions for a water pokemon? I don't want Wailmer... Or Pelipper... Or Marrill... Or Goldeen... God, the lack of cool water pokemon sucks.

I have never gotten this far into Emerald, but am looking to ace this game. Then I might possibly move onto Diamond/Pearl and trade my faves over to D/P.

I LOVE Seviper. That's my pokemon.

The Champion has a well made team with attacks that can type-trump the pokemon you use to type-trump. For example, she has a Milotic that will use ice beam against a grass type. I just worked my way back to her with the level 70s I caught and some I got from Ruby like Lugia and Ho-oh from whatever island it was you go to. So here is what she has:

Spritomb [Ghost/Dark]: Level 61

Bring someone that knows toxic. I also used my Roserade's Toxic Spike so all of her pokemon were poisoned upon entering the fight. Now, this is weak to NOTHING, so just use strong attacks.

Roserade [Grass/Poison]: Level 60

Easy to take down with so many weaknesses.

Gastrodon [Water/Ground]: 60

Obviously grass is a heavy hitter here, and hopefully your grass type also has poison type because Gastrodon can hit a pure grass type hard with sludge bomb.

Lucario [Fighting/Steel]: Level 63

I, personally, found my Infernape's Flame Wheel quite effective here. It's easier to hit it wh a physical fire attack because it has high special defense.

Milotic [Water]: Level 63

Milotic hits grass types hard with ice beam, so it's better to use Electric. If you don't have electric, use another pokemon to drain all of it's attacks down, then trump it with grass.

Garchomp [Dragon/Ground]: Level 66

Ice attacks will work wonders against this big guy. My level 50 Empoleon needed only two ice beams to take it out.

The champion is no easy battle. With four Full Restores, as all champions have, the battle can drag out. The Elite Four aren't so easy this time around either. I was a bit surprised by the first one. If you want to know about them, just let me know and i'll post some info.
