Triple G Appreciation thread

happy bunny.jpgOh, joy. An early delivery of the a/c unit arrived late yesterday and is being installed as I type. Soon it will be cool in my house.

John, in 118F heat, those portable units have a hard time cooling. In my case the bedroom didn't get below 80 until 10PM.

Good Friday morning, Gary! (*8*)

I hope you've been spending all your time in cool, air conditioned bliss that make your rabbit ears cold.

Good evening, Gary. (*8*) I hope you are enjoying the new a/c, and that you are nice and cool.

I’m doing okay, but we may have a big heatwave next weekend of up to 100F. I hope not since, as I’ve said before, we in England have no a/c. The other thing is if we had a/c with the cost of electricity being so high over here, we wouldn’t be able to afford to run it!

(*8*) Good day my dear friends, RM, John, Rob. You have not forgotten me.

We are now going on two months with heat over 110F, and it is getting me down. My cold water is so hot a decent shower is impossible.

A week with no central air and the expense for its replacement has left no money for the dental work I need. Add the memorial service for my ex last Saturday (we where married 60 years ago last Thursday) which I am in no shape physically or financially to travel to northwest Origan and no cooling in sight for a month or two leaving me stuck in the house leaving me with no desire to do anything. A new heat wave hits this week. Looking at 120+ again after last week's 115+.

I just want to lay in bed all day listening to the radio. As for posting here, dynk is gone, Billy is gone, Don Q is seldom around. I have run out of things to say.

I'll try to post more.

Good evening, Gary. (*8*) Firstly, I will not forget one of my best friends on here. I love your sense of humour, you have me laughing so much.
Now, I’m so sorry you have all those big problems, and another big heatwave to start. That’s a rotten situation to be in. I hope things can get better for you in all ways very quickly. I want you to enjoy your life, and to be able to do all you would like to do.
So, Gary, you are in my thoughts and prayers. (*8*)(*8*)(*8*)

What issues I have are insignificant compared to yours. So, I’m relaxing this evening, and will be in bed soon after I see Doctor Who.

(*8*) I got up at 6:00AM and was able to get a shower that was not unreasonably hot.

It is 110F already at 10AM.

Happy Hump Day Eve. I hope everyone survived Monday.

Hi, Gary. (*8*) I am glad you were able to have a shower that was not too hot. I’m sorry you are having such exceptionally hot weather and for so long.

I’m a bit knackered, I was out with a good friend in the afternoon. He was looking for a device that cuts up potatoes into chips, but ended up empty handed…
Anyway, I’ll be going to bed soon, perchance to dream, as The Bard said. ;)

(*8*) Good afternoon, Andrew, Rob, RM, John, Boris, unload

The internet has been off today. Just got it back.

Good news looks like we will be cooling down to the 90s with possibly some rain this weekend. My friend owns the radio station in Parker and I dropped in on him for the last half hour of his live morning show. The station is the official weather station for our area. During that 30 minutes, the national weather bureau changed the forecast four times. They want to tell us that we will be burning up in 20 years but can't predict what it will be like this afternoon.

Folder duty went well, and we finished early.

Was everyone's Hump Day good?

Good Thursday morning, Gary! (*8*)

Well, it's starting to look like you might be in for a deluge, if the weather predictions for a dying hurricane going your way pan out. That'll certainly be cooling you down.

I'm sorry you're having money problems, and I know it must have been sad losing your ex.

Good morning, Gary. (*8*) I hope it will not be too hot for you today, and that you’ll have a great day today.

It’s cool here today, with a breeze off the North Sea. I’m going out to play Scrabble with friends. I’ll try not to find too many rude words!

(*8*) The cold water was very warm-hot at 6AM, but not so hot I couldn't stand it. Had a fairly comfortable shower.

Awaiting the arrival of Hillery.

Hey Gary!! (*8*)

I'm glad you got your A/C fixed. It's been so hot so far this summer.

Hell, they're even on fire in Canada...

😨 Hillary is coming

hillary-clinton.jpg

No, not that one, this one.

If we have as much rain as they say, the only entry roads here will be flooded, and I will not be able to get out of Big River. A big wash runs across area, cutting off all access roads. Hope I can get to church tomorrow.

We had light rain with lots of lighting last night and this morning. The big hit will arrive tonight. The center will not hit us, just the edge with heavy rain and wind.

On the plus side, it is only 78F at 10AM.

Good Monday morning, Gary! (*8*)

Well, I hope that Hilary didn't wash you away or blow you away. You can't always tell for sure, but all the graphics I saw seemed to have indicated the worst of it was going to go to the west of you, around Palm Springs or whatever. Hope that was the case for you.

Hi, Gary. (*8*) I hope you are safe and well and that Hilary is not too violent where you are. I’m thinking about you. (*8*)

Now, I’m okay and will be having my evening meal next on a warm Summer’s evening.

The storm took a left turn before it got here and headed to Long Beach. Just lots of rain last night and wind about 35mph. All the drama and damage were west of me.

Today it's blue skies with high fluffy clouds and in the low 90s.
