On-Topic Trump Bans Syrian Refugees

At least Zuckerberg is one of the few business titans to speak out. The silence from other business and political leaders so far is deafening.

“Like many of you, I’m concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump.

We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat.

We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help.

Again, he is doing what he promised to do, what he was elected to do.

And what a substantial number of his supporters thought he'd never follow through on, suckers.

If he said he was going to exterminate all Catholics, for example, he'd still have gotten a good chunk on the Catholic vote.

Instead he is going to make Christian refugees a "priority", hm, I wonder why?

President Hussein excluded Christian refugees, but they are able to assimilate, will accept democracy and not insist on sharia law, and they are far less likely to become terrorists. I think most of his supporters would prefer to stop all immigration.

Wow again.

So people all over the world have been turned away from visiting the US, including Iranian film-makers nominated for Oscars.

And Doctors and other professionals travelling to conferences or on business.

Wow.

Talk about alienating hundreds of thousands of people who probably used to believe in the US.

I have to think that America's loss will be Canada's gain...just as it has been at other dark points in US history.

And once again...no ambassadors in any country in the world.

Another of Trump's big lies that you Stormfronters keep putting out there.

On Friday, Mr. Trump said that once the United States resumed the intake of refugees, Christians would receive priority. Until recently, “If you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible,” he told Christian Broadcasting News.

In fact, the United States accepts tens of thousands of Christian refugees. According to the Pew Research Center, almost as many Christian refugees (37,521) were admitted as Muslim refugees (38,901) in the 2016 fiscal year.

Notably, even though Mr. Trump’s ban is ostensibly based on security concerns, it excludes countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, whose citizens have been responsible for some of the most serious terrorist plots against the United States since 2001. Those countries are harder to push around. Pakistan has nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia is a major source of oil, and the United Arab Emirates is a major source of investment. Mr. Trump’s company has a golf club in Dubai and holdings related to a possible hotel venture in Saudi Arabia.

The hypocrisy of this order is

Appalling.

I was expecting a temporal visa ban from:
Saudi arabia, pakistan, UAE, Qatar and a few other gulf states.

Nope. TrumpCo. skipped all the states that have actually produced the deadliest terrorists because of his own business interests or because of the oil.

Oh wow, a country that is over 90% Muslim has only a tiny fraction of its refugee population that are Christian. I wonder how that could be?
And wow a continent that is over 90% Christian has largely Christian refugees? Amazing.

Did you think this post actually proves anything?

Obama essentially admitted that he ignored the plight of Christians persecuted for their religion in a muslim country, falsly saying that the US hasnever applied a religious test.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/11/1...istory-admitting-refugees-based-on-faith.html
He is wrong. Religious persecution is an important criterion for refugee status.

Nice twisting of the facts, all he saying here is that is wrong to apply religious tests to justify NOT helping people. Please show where he has said we should 'ignore the plight of Christians persecuted for their religion"

Where are the 10% Syrian Christians? Their plight is worse than that of the Muslim refugees, but they get worse treatment by president hussein. Why could that be?

Citation please. You have posted nothing that shows that the Obama administration treated Christian refugees any worse than other refugees.
