Trump should have halted all immigration, eliminating the discrimination issue. If we cannot stop it our democracy and economy are doomed.

It appears to be the anti immigration types who are dooming the economy (the regions where they prevail are economic failures relative to immigrant hubs in California, the Pacific North West, and much of the Eastern Seaboard).
The gerrymandering that's occurred in Republican States is a blatant undermining of democracy.

I am not on my PC right now, so can't like it yet but just read an article that had a study that says that mass deportation would actually hurt our economy. Though this should not surprise anyone who knows anything.

You know, it's that exact mindset, and wrapping yourself in the old red, white and blue, that will be America's downfall. Even the world's greatest castles raised their drawbridges occasionally for their own protection. Just look at Europe. Is America greater than Europe and their beliefs?

NO wars were won hiding behind castle walls. Properly used a castle is a strong point from which you sally forth to defeat the enemy not to hide behind like a coward. And they are intended as last ditch defenses against an actual army not families and children fleeing the enemy. If we are to defeat radical jihadists we must undermine their message that we are at war with Islam, we will not do that by acting like we are.

If we allow the narrative ISIS and all their ilk want to portray, as them defending against a West that really wants to strike at Islam, then we continue t do exactly what Trump and Co. are doing. While saying they aren't imposing a Muslim ban, slowly but surely that is where they want to go.

I'm not going to bash Middle America in the process. But I'm not going to defend the actions of President Trump here. He criticizes all he wants President Obama's record on Syria and the Middle East(and frankly I don't think one can say Obama's policies were a highlight of his administration) but now all Trump is doing is making it easy for the radicals to point and say, "they really are against Muslims". Saying things like we should have taken the oil in Iraq, and maybe we'll get the opportunity again.. well that certainly doesn't add to Trump's credibility.

While some in Europe are hostile to Trump there are many, probably a majority who hate what immigration is doing to their counrty and wish they had a Trump to save them. The Brixit vote was an expression of that. The loudest voices are not always the majority. A large percentage of protestors are immigrants who want more of their culture to come.

You can't really criticize it for being an intolerant religion, when Christianity/Catholicism is the most common in USA and is incredibly intolerant. It is always used to justify trying to use the law against multiple groups of people even though we are supposed to be separate from church and state. So unless you are going to criticize it for also being intolerant you have no ground to stand on.

As long as we remain a secular nation with the Constitution's protections in place then I do not care what the predominant religion is.

I have no fears of the US becoming a Muslim nation in the foreseeable future though so I wouldn't worry about it.

So a tiny baby has missed her appointment for heart surgery thanks to TrumpCo.

The family of a 4-month-old Iranian girl said that she missed an appointment for open heart surgery due to President Donald Trump’s executive order banning travelers from seven majority-Muslim countries.

Sam Taghizadeh told KPTV that his niece, Fatemah, was scheduled to fly in for an appointment next week at Oregon Health & Science University but the trip was cancelled.

Taghizadeh said that the family had spent weeks preparing for the trip. They flew to Dubai last week for a scheduled meeting at the U.S. consulate, where they were told that they would not be allowed to complete the trip even though Fatemah’s grandparents are U.S. citizens.

Unfortunately I have seen a couple of stories like this already, it is awful and is going to continue to be awful and it only comes from a ban that is only revealing to hold a double standard on a race and religion.
