Trump blames Canada for California fires.

I wonder if he has ever even set foot in a forest, and seen a fallen tree there.
By the time a tree reaches that point the wood is far from useable as lumber...

Oh and if Canada is to blame for the California fires, are the all fires in British Columbia then to be blamed on the US???

Ah. True Pundit. Another right-wing, fake news, propaganda machine.

LOL!!! You say that like it's a bad thing. But the Interior Secretary Ryan Zenke and the LA Times disagree. [Text: Removed]

I sadly freshen this thread without debate.

One of these is not like the others.

The man to my right has 4th degree burns this morning.

This bambi plane is grounded because it is too old and flammable for use.
It's owner and pilot, Matt is now flying a chopper.

I ask that you pray for them, for their support crews, for the families they are trying to save, and for those who have fallen in horror.

You have my deepest gratitude and prayers for ALL firefighters. I had a few save my life several tears back when my house burned down.

Thank you mikey. We're all in it together.

Here's a picture of rareboy's friends. It speaks for itself.

Sorry to hear that  poor guy :( :( hope he'll be able to make a full recovery.

Sending my best wishes/hopes for rain in California (and an end to those winds)

Thank you Jay from the bottom of my heart and from the trees themselves. All posturing aside, this is an intense event and here are some trees in British Columbia that didn't get the border memo.

Welcome....
Its horrible to think of all those people out there who lost everything (including their life in some cases)
But I also can't help think of the trees/forest too.
Firefighters truly are heroes for putting themselves at such risk protecting others..

I know BC had big fires this summer :( but I've heard nothing about what's going on up there lately

-----------------
Please stay safe out there (both you and your fellow firefighters)

...and everyone send wishes to mother nature for a nice slow steady rain (or snow)

^ I can't find anything of note in British Columbia. There are a few out-of-control fires in Ontario, but they're generally left to burn out naturally because nobody lives there.

Fire Season in Canada usually runs from April to October with peaks in June, July, and August.

Norovirus confirmed in Camp Fire relief camps. Send them some prayers. Now they'll need rain and bottled water. Sorry, just spreading the gloom and asking for prayers.

I heard on the news this morning a report of the people who are carefully wandering through the burnt-out areas looking for victims. They had found 5 people - 4 inside buildings and 2 outside.

What a horrible, gruesome task that I had never really considered before.

On the evening news tonight, showed one of the crews doing this. They were literally sifting through the rubble by hand.

As the smoke plume makes its way north, it is carrying embers. Everything is so dry there are crews waiting for the next big outbreak.

But just how far can they (hot embers) travel ... I heard it was only up to a mile? - and that being under extreme conditions.
Smoke I know can go hundreds (thousands?) of miles - probably everyone has seen that, just this spring/summer alone really showed some of it.
And (cold) ash I know go a number of miles (have seen this first hand from a fire here _years ago_ one day it started 'ashing' where I live, miles away from the fire (the ashes were like full pine needles - the short ones that spruce-type pines have - still had their shape & everything ... other than being a gray 'ash' they still looked pretty much looked like what was on the trees in my yard))
