Trump blames Canada for California fires.

Yeah, graduation photo from Nurnsing school. He posted it because he's just paid off his student loans before he turned 30. Success.

Chris and Matt, I know you won't see this today. I cannot imagine what it's like for all of you. Today it is Thanksgiving. Be safe and thank you ALL now and later.

I would humbly ask that you redirect your prayers for rain. (Those prayers have been answered.) Please pray for victims, victims who are responders and for all the beautiful humanity who is showing up. Fun Fact: One of the men on our first team was from Puerto Rico. When he gets home, he will still be dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. This is huge and humbling.

Oops. I forgot to say please and thank you.
Respect.

I do not have the words to tell you how much what you, and your others, are doing truly means. Above and Beyond! (o) (ww) ..|

HUGE HUGS!! (*8*)

Yeah and that he has a Puerto Rican at his side is incredible. All this is an example of Unity. When even the disrespected show up, humanity is personified and there is hope.

We need to get Humans back in government ...

I feel it’s a combination of things. I didn’t vote for Trump but there is some truth t what he’s saying. However I feel the biggest reason is damage done to our environment.

Forest fires don't travel along the forest floor. They travel along the canopy and burn downward to the floor. Brush fires burn along the ground.

And the biggest reason for the damage is Trump's constant denial of climate change and his continuing efforts to promoting fossil fuels.

I misread and I thought this was about the management of California my mistake.

Global warming is the #1 reason I head to the polls. I’m subscribed to the Ndw York Times (daily paper) and they have some good articles on this. They’ve been covering the fires in California for a week now (haven’t read today’s yet)

I’m not defending Trump and I have no reason to. But I like to consider myself a fair man. I have a liberal friend who works for the federal government that focuses is aware of things like this. California DOES have poor fire prevention management. That is a fact.

I think we are BOTH right it’s just a misunderstanding. I have aspergers and with political stuff I’ve always had a hard time expressing myself with complex subjects. I have books on climate change and it’s the MAIN reason I vote.. “who is going to help the planet more?”

I’m not a climate change skeptic, I KNOW global warming is caused MOSTLY by man’s actions.

Yes massive fires are going to spread thruout the country if we don’t act soon. California will become a national situation if we don’t make changes. California has been having trouble because of how poor the state is run. (I’m a center left individual and I’m saying that)

As I suffer from mental illness, I can’t help but take Trumps illness into consideration. He’s mentally sick and I can’t hate someone who needs help. He’s just dangerous to have as a leader to this country. In his words about California being poorly managed, I assume he meant that “if you’re electrical grid and protocols were functional this may not have happened so easily.”

California got unlucky. So PART of what of Trump said IS true, but he’s saying it for the wrong reasons. He has people in his ears. I own Omarosa’s book.

^ To say that Donald Trump has mental illness is stating the obvious. Mental illness often manifests as "behavior." Allowing this man to rule the nation is allowing his behavior to fuck with everything in the whole world.

In case you missed it in the news, Trump's answer to the situation is cutting back financial backing and recommending that the people of California 'rake' their forests like the people in Finland do.

Dear Beloveds,

This snapshot is coming to you from the front-line. Let everyone everywhere bicker. Let the president stand his ignorant ground about climate change. Some people have brought guitars to the camps on the front. Here are lyrics to a song that sums all this up.

There's no hiding place down here
There's no hiding place down here
Well, I run to the rock just to hide my face
And the rocks cried out, no hiding place
There's no hiding place down here

Period.

I’m subscribed to the New York Times 7 days a week at my door and yes I know. He makes these cut throat threats and I can’t stand that about him. It DOES frustrate me. I stand by what he said with their management being poor in some regards, but saying those things WHILE people are devastated is a big social “fuck up.” It came off very insensitive and I don’t agree with pulling funding. He’s a bully.

Forest floors are part of the life cycle of forests and they are vital for the continuation of the forests. The biggest problem is people building their homes in - if you can pardon the pun - the line of fire. It's not like they don't know the odds are against them.

But you're absolutely right about Trump. He is 100% apathy and 0% empathy. I'm reminded of the hurricane destruction he visited (in Florida, I think), and he was talking to a man whose house was destroyed by a yacht which had smashed into it from the storm surge. The man had no home, but Trump all-but-congratulated the man on his new boat.

All of this is part of the BIG PICTURE. There are millions of ways we are turning the thermostat up. It is so dry in Colorado that we're thrilled hunting seasons are almost over with only two "incidents." Our forests are drying up from head to toe. Last year our ski areas opened at Christmas instead of Thanksgiving. The Colorado River has evaporated, for another example. Yeah, we build mansions in the "stupid zone ridgelines" for a beautiful view from our second home. I'm praying for the survivors, the dead and the entire emergency community because the whole fucking place is a tinderbox with very strong winds.

The Colorado River has evaporated, for another example.

Actually, the Colorado has been 'evaporating' for decades. So much of it is diverted to cities like Las Vegas and Los Angeles for drinking water (and desert fountains) or for crop irrigation that what's left to reach the Gulf of California is little more than a trickle.

This photo is the delta on a good day:

^ I've got my arm over your shoulder, Brother. Yeah, Man, the whole Western Slope is another dustbox landscape.

^ According to Wiki, there are 15 dams on the Colorado River proper with hundreds more on the tributaries. Combined, they can hold back 4 to 5 times the average annual flow of the entire Colorado River Basin.

That's a lot of water not to see the end of the journey.

Without the "dirty" forest floors, you just don't get old-growth forests. End of story.

And, for those in the back who didn't hear it the first time:

FIRES TRAVEL ALONG THE CANOPY, AND BURN DOWN *TO* THE FOREST FLOOR!
