Humor-Satire Trump Staff Picks, Co-Conspirators and the Revolving Door of Departures [2024 Edition]

"Crawling out of his skin"... I think I have heard patients with alcohol withdrawl and delirium tremens use that same phrase?

Pete Hegseth is 'crawling out his skin': Pentagon insiders tell of explosive tantrums and erratic behavior... as his wife is accused of making outrageous demands

“There’s a manic quality about him,” said a source. “Or let me rephrase, an even more manic quality, which is really saying something.”

The person said the alleged dipsomaniac is “visibly distracted, fidgeting and even standing up and pacing during meetings.”

“Dude is crawling out of his skin,” added another official.

His coworkers and his alleged rape victim warned Congress not to confirm him.

The Comey indictment may be in bigger trouble beyond having a greenhorn, post turtle, former beauty pageant runner-up, interim US Attorney filing it.

Barbara McQuade has an op-ed on Substack where she pointed out something that may get the indictment thrown out on a technicality.

The case centers on questioning from Senator Ted Cruz [R-TX] (and was likely being pushed behind-the-scenes by Cruz). In 2020, Cruz asks Comey about 2017 testimony that Comey gave under oath while being questioned by Chuck Grassley [R-IA].

In the 2017, questioning Grassley asks Comey about leaks regarding the "Clinton investigation", meaning the 2016 Hillary Clinton Presidential campaign.

When Cruz asked Comey about his 2017 testimony, Cruz read from a piece of paper in front of him and Cruz says, "Clinton Administration" (which would be the Presidency of Bill Clinton). It could have been a typo from a staffer or it could have been a gaffe by Cruz.

But it's enough to get a case thrown out on a technicality.

It’s amateur hour in the Eastern District of Virginia...

Rule 29 of the Rules of Criminal Procedure provides that if the evidence is insufficient to sustain a conviction after the government rests its case at trial, the judge “must enter a judgment of acquittal.” This indictment seems destined for that fate...

..the charging theory is muddled because the indictment bootstraps testimony Comey gave in 2017, necessitated by the expiring five-year statute of limitations. As a result, it is unclear exactly what lie is alleged. The quoted language appears to come from a question asked by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) at a Senate committee hearing on Sept. 30, 2020, the date of the alleged offense. But Cruz was asking Comey about testimony he had given three years earlier at a different hearing in response to a question from Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). At that time, the committee was investigating the FBI’s probe into connections between Russia and Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and its inquiry into Clinton’s use of a private email server. It was Grassley who had used the words quoted in the indictment, but his full question provided more context. Grassley had asked Comey if he had “ever authorized someone else at the F.B.I. to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation.” Those words were omitted from Thursday’s indictment, perhaps because they are problematic for the prosecution. In 2020, when Cruz asked Comey about that exchange, he botched the wording. Instead of accurately quoting Grassley, Cruz said “Clinton administration,” not “Clinton investigation.” The only Clinton administration in American history is the presidency of Bill Clinton, and it was not the subject of any FBI investigation under Comey. Therefore, Comey’s denial in response to this question had nothing to do with “Person 1.”

So, somehow Tom Homan has become a millionaire from his time working at ICE. 🤔

Tom Homan’s Defense on $50K Bribe Crumbles as Exact Timeline Revealed
No, the FBI didn’t try to entrap Trump’s border czar.

On Monday, MSNBC reported that the FBI investigation into Homan began after Julian Calderas—a former ICE official, who worked under Homan during the Obama administration—allegedly told the undercover agents that Homan could help them eventually score contracts if they coughed up $1 million.

Calderas, who, like Homan at the time, ran his own private government contracting consulting firm, allegedly brought the plan to the undercover agents in May 2023—which ultimately led to the meeting in which Homan accepted the $50,000, and during which Calderas also reportedly accepted $10,000.

Trading on Tom Homan: Inside the Push to Cash in on the Trump Administration’s Deportation Campaign
A Pennsylvania businessman who had Tom Homan on his payroll led companies to believe his connections to the future border czar could help advance their bids for government work, industry executives said.

The first time a Pennsylvania consultant named Charles Sowell connected with border czar Tom Homan was when Sowell reached out on LinkedIn in 2021, looking for advice about border contracting work. Homan had finished a stint as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, capping a three-decade career in federal government. He and Sowell built a rapport, based partly on their shared criticisms of then-President Joe Biden’s border policies.

By 2023, the men had gone into business together. Sowell was paying Homan as a consultant to his boutique firm, SE&M Solutions, which advised companies — in some cases for a fee of $20,000 a month — seeking contracts from the agencies where Homan had once worked. In 2024, Sowell became chair of the board of Homan’s foundation, Border911, which championed tougher border security.

But several industry executives who spoke with ProPublica said at least half a dozen companies vying for a slice of the $45 billion Congress has allocated for immigration detention work had hired Sowell because he had led them to believe his connections to Homan would help their chances of winning government work.

Jeanine Pirro is being called out for the incredibly sloppy job she and her department are doing:

Where's Dan Bongino these days?

You can always tell when Attorney General Blondi has been caught in a lie or in yet another corruption example- she a) deflects, b) tries an ad hominem attack against the person asking the question and c) tries faux outrage "How dare you!". In the end, she never answers the question.

Read this as Blondi did a quid pro quo for her former law firm and dismissed a court case favoring her former law firm's customer.

This has become a game with these incompetent appointees like Bondi, Hegseth, Patel... they insult senators, make podcaster accusations against senators and they equivocate, avoid and have melodramatic performances. When the Congress changes hands, this will come back to haunt them.

You keep talking about when the Congress changes hands.

They have no intention of this ever happening.

There's 330 million of us. :)

Here's the thing:

If you didn't do it, say "No".

And if you allowed an official to get away with $50K in a brown paper bag, don't attack the person asking the question:

This is all a violation of the Hatch Act. A paid government employee should not be indulging in partisan activities while on the job.

It's worth noting that the feckless 90 year old chair of the committee just let this show go on. No Republican Senator exercised the power of the US Senator to correct this behavior. This is giving away their power. Why even bother to run for the Senate if all you are going to do is give away your power and do podcasts?

Not this GOP but turnabout is fair play. They will eventually be in the minority and they'll reap what they sow. The next Democratic President will be running through all sorts of Federal Judicial nominees and the next Democratic Attorney General will just ignore Republican questions, inquiries and FOIA requests.

Senators have big egos. Eventually, they will get a big dose of their own medicine and they're not going to like the taste.

Incidentally, Sen Whitehouse [D-RI] has started referring to Pam Bondi's DOJ as "The Gong Show" level of legal representation. That is pretty accurate.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the latest round of Trump nominees who are being approved en masse by the Republican Senate...

Included is the US Ambassador to the Bahamas, Herschel Walker. On a practical note, this provides a new population of women for Walker to abuse, impregnate and an expense account to pay for their abortions.

Ambassador nominee Walker was lauded and introduced by Ted Cruz. 🤮

During the Biden Adminstration, the Democrats wanted the Senate to voice vote for Administration nominees in groups - like 10 at a time- in order to expedite the process. Republican screamed like a mashed cat, so Democrats backed off and individual votes were required to confirm Biden's nominees.

Yesterday, the Republicans changed the rules and voted a block of over 100 Trump Administration nominees through at the same time in a single vote.

One of those who was confirmed was Herschel Walker, the new US Ambassador to the Bahamas.

Senate Republicans confirmed more than 100 nominees Tuesday evening, largely clearing the backlog of President Donald Trump’s picks who have been awaiting a floor vote.

The party-line vote comes after Senate Republicans changed the rules last month to allow most executive branch nominees to be confirmed as a group, whereas lawmakers previously had to hold a vote on each one. The change does not include Cabinet picks or judges.

The GQP aren't even hiding their contempt at all now.

And of course, the Dems are 100% complicit in this as well. Feckless and hesitant whenever they have power and compliant when they don't. How many Dems voted with the GQP by the way?

Also btw...TrumpCo. also is doing nothing but showing contempt for the rest of the world with its picks for ambassadors...Walker isn't even one of the worst.

As is typical, the rules apply unless the rules apply to them.

It also means that the next President can just put all his nominees into one big approval batch and get them all done in Feb-Mar. No more individual approvals. If that's the way that Republicans want to play...

Another Trump official ignoring the Hatch Act...

ICE Barbie's little videography studio produced a video that ICE Barbie wants shown to passengers waiting in TSA lines in US airports. The video blames Democrats for the shutdowns and the long TSA lines, which is a use of government resources for partisan political activity, a violation of the Hatch Act.

I have noted that apparently 7 airports have refused to air it...leaving us to relaize that almost all the others are airing it.

And Hatch Act?

It was a joke in Trump's first term and who is there to even enforce it?

No one.

It was just another meaningless performative piece of legislation that only serves as a Whiffle Bat threat when contravened.

The Hatch Act dates back to 1939. The penalties were updated in 2012. I think the max penalty is $1,000, though.

At the State level, using a government phone or printer for political purposes can get you fired.

The Democrats, instead of wasting time and money on virtue signaling legislation, need to get serious about overhauling corruption legislation and cleaning up old laws like the Insurrection Act that should have been repealed and replaced ages ago.

KKKaroline has a new nickname: "Machine Gun Lips"

These people should be laughed out of the White House Press Room. Their salary is being paid by the American public.

White House Gives Wild Response To A Simple Question Asked By HuffPost Reporter

A simple query about Trump's choice of location for his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin set off the president's spokespeople.

HuffPost asked the White House: Who picked Budapest?

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded minutes later with: “Your mom did.”

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung after a minute added the far more succinct: “Your mom.”

On a positive note, KKKaroline looks like she's aged 5 years during her tenure as propaganda minister for Trump. Cheung still looks like a Sharpei.
