I am a little surprised, because I thought that Project 2025 architects would have a whole slate of hard core, qualified legal attack dogs to fill any and all positions like this.

Instead, TrumpCo. seems to just pick them at random.

Having a license (or a bar card) changes your perspective on things. There's a few true-believers in the MAGA horde but most white collar professionals don't want the taint of having an orange stain on their nose or having their post-Trump livelihood become hawking Armageddon food kits on right wing podcasts.

There were reports from the courtoom yesterday that Lindsey Halligan was chewing gum and copping attitude with the judge. It is a great way for a lawyer to be ground to bits by a judge and a great way to get your ass handed to you in the courtroom.

Halligan is fighting back... or she thinks she's fighting back... by hinting that the judge was a Biden appointee and that the judge was violating judicial conduct rules. It's a risky strategy and my money is on the judge and on the possibility that Halligan could lose her law license for some of these games she's playing.

Interim US Attorney Lindsey Halligan suggested Wednesday that the Biden-appointed judge overseeing the criminal case against former FBI Director James Comey violated judicial conduct rules by asking if she was a “puppet” of President Trump.

District Judge Michael Nachmanoff asked Comey’s defense lawyer if he thought Halligan, the prosecutor who brought the indictment against the former FBI boss, was acting as a “puppet” or “stalking horse” of the commander in chief, during a hearing in an Alexandria, Va., courtroom.

When you fire an interim US Attorney illegally, demote his deputy (who the statute says should be promoted) and then install your personal (and unqualified) attorney in the position to do your dirty work and then you lie about it, a judge if going to figure it out. You will not get away with it.

And when you're the attorney who presented to the Grand Jury and you signed the indictment alone (because no other attorney in your office wanted anything to do with it), your case will get thrown out.

A federal judge has thrown out the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, concluding that President Donald Trump’s handpicked prosecutor, Lindsey Halligan, was illegally appointed to the role when she single-handedly secured the indictments.

U.S. District Judge Cameron Currie concluded that Halligan’s appointment as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia violated laws that limit the ability of the Justice Department to install top prosecutors without Senate confirmation.

It's worth remembering that FBI Directors are hired for a 10 year term to avoid having political hacks appointed every four years who would be loyal to the President who appoints them. The last director, Chris Wray, was appointed during the first Trump Reich in 2017 but only served 7 years of his term. Kash Patel was confirmed to replace him in Feb 2025. He's lasted only 9 months.

Doctor Critical of Vaccines Quietly Appointed as C.D.C.’s Second in Command

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Ralph Lee Abraham promoted discredited treatments like ivermectin and, as Louisiana’s surgeon general, halted the state’s mass vaccination campaign.

Dr. Ralph Abraham, who as Louisiana’s surgeon general ordered the state health department to stop promoting vaccinations and who has called Covid vaccines “dangerous,” has been named the second in command at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Department of Health and Human Services did not announce the appointment, and many C.D.C. employees seemed unaware of it. But the C.D.C.’s internal database lists Dr. Abraham as the agency’s principal deputy director, with a start date of Nov. 23. The appointment was first reported by the Substack column Inside Medicine.

A spokesman for H.H.S. confirmed Dr. Abraham’s new position but declined to comment further. Dr. Abraham did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Dr. Abraham’s views on some issues align with those of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He has endorsed avoiding Tylenol in pregnancy except “when absolutely necessary” because of a possible link to autism. He has also backed ending routine immunization for hepatitis B at birth and removing from vaccines ingredients like aluminum salts, which are added to enhance the immune response.

My only criticism of the episode is that it really was about the oil mafia in the middle east using money to assimilate American governments. The ridiculous performative Hegseth scenes were funny but it covered up the Saudi graft. Of course, it could be argued that South Park was dead on- these "influencers" who were confirmed by the Republicans in the Senate into government-paid positions are distractions from the real story of what is happening to the American government.

I'm only sad that some poor doggie gets slaughtered anytime ICE Barbie makes an appearance on the show.
