Re: Trump Staff Picks

Betsy, Betsy, Betsy...

Betsy DeVos is on a "listening tour" to determine how to defend the rights of those "falsely accused" of college campus sexual assault. Apparently, DeVos does not agree with Obama-era efforts to hold public colleges and universities accountable for protecting students from sexual assault.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

^ This is truly despicable. Their hatred of Obama has been putting more and more Americans in danger since the day (I won't say what I want to say) was sworn into office.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Here's an aspect I hadn't heard before -- he's piling on people who make a business of war:

"One noticeable thing about Trump’s contractor appointees is how many of them come from firms that did not even exist before 9/11: L-1 Identity Solutions (specialising in biometrics), the Chertoff Group (founded by George W Bush’s homeland security director Michael Chertoff), Palantir Technologies (a surveillance/big data firm cofounded by PayPal billionaire and Trump backer Peter Thiel), and many more. Security firms draw heavily on the military and intelligence wings of government for their staffing.

Under Trump, lobbyists and staffers from these firms are now migrating back to government, where they will very likely push for even more opportunities to monetise the hunt for people Trump likes to call “bad hombres”.

This creates a disastrous cocktail. Take a group of people who directly profit from ongoing war and then put those same people at the heart of government. Who’s going to make the case for peace? Indeed, the idea that a war could ever definitively end seems a quaint relic of what during the Bush years was dismissed as “pre–September 11 thinking”."

This strikes me as not a lot different than the Roman emperors having pretty much their own armies. We all know how that worked out.

^ Couldn't watch The Daily Show (not available in Canada), but The Closer Look was hilarious! I got a kick out of Scaramucci. Not bad for a guy who voted for Hillary a few months ago.

There's a proxy site that usually can display You Tube videos- if you take the address and replace the "tube" in YouTube with "pak"... like this:

Re: Trump Staff Picks

^ It worked. Thanks. (Loved that little Trump/Scaramucci montage at the end. Proof that imitation is the highest form of [STRIKE]stupi[/STRIKE]... er... 'flattery'.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

New quotes from Trump's proposed Communications Director:

“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he told The New Yorker. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.”

“They’ll all be fired by me,” he said Wednesday, according to a New Yorker report published Thursday. “I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I’ll fire tomorrow. I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus—if you want to leak something—he’ll be asked to resign very shortly.”

He also called Priebus a “paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.”

Re: Trump Staff Picks

You couldn't invent this shit.

And what communications director wouldn't know enough to tell a reporter that their remarks are 'off the record'?

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Here's an in-depth The New Yorker article on the Scarememuci tantrum that's worth spending ten minutes reading, if only to appreciate the background to this whirlwind:

http://www.newyorker.com/news/ryan-...house-leakers-reince-priebus-and-steve-bannon

I quote:

I got the sense that Scaramucci’s campaign against leakers flows from his intense loyalty to Trump. Unlike other Trump advisers, I’ve never heard him say a bad word about the President. “What I want to do is I want to fucking kill all the leakers and I want to get the President’s agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people,” he told me.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Another entertaining article that expands my knowledge on the new kid on the block, and the vanities that distinguish his entry into the house of horrors:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jul/27/anthony-scaramucci-donald-trump

I quote:
Scaramucci, as his call to the New Yorker so aptly demonstrated, is undisciplined and unprincipled, over-reaching and under-qualified, petty, vindictive, and above all, in love with his own image on TV. In short, he’s the perfectly-coiffed face of Donald Trump’s presidency. This is the Trump White House, where competency is of far less value than sycophancy, and virtuous staffers are worth rather less than a Ruby Tuesday special.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

For a communications director, he should learn how to communicate. I couldn't read the entire articles above. I know some people who use that sort of language and I simply just stop listening to them.

Like Trump, though, he does seem to have a very high opinion of himself... not to mention his apparent obsession with that dangly bit between his legs.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

The White House today certainly gives an insight into the way Trump ran his businesses, and it also gives us a bird's eye view of why so many of those businesses went belly-up. Trump is running the White House and the rest of the country as if they are his own private business.

Spirits, he is not just a yes man, he is a true believer which is a thousand times worse.
