He may not like his new digs in the Alexandria jail. He had some great creature comforts at the old jail in Virginia (Manafort moved to Alexandria jail [Politico]):

Prosecutors from special counsel Robert Mueller's office said in a court filing Wednesday that he had unusually favorable conditions at the Warsaw, Virginia jail, including a self-contained cell larger than what other inmates get, a private bathroom and shower, access to a personal phone and laptop computer, and the ability from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. to use a workspace to meet with his lawyers and prepare for his upcoming criminal trials.

Prosecutors also said Manafort was not required to wear the standard prison uniform at Northern Neck. However, in a booking photo released Thursday from Alexandria, he looks somewhat unshaven and appears to be wearing a standard-issue dark jumpsuit.

Not mentioned in the article was that Manafort also had two laptops in the Virginia jail. He was creating emails on one of the laptops which his lawyer would take outside of the prison and send the emails on behalf of Manafort. This did not go over very well with the judge since Manafort was sent to jail because he was emailing potential witnesses in his trial.

Ximena Barreto, a far-right political pundit who was appointed in December to a communications post at the Department of Health and Human Services, resigned on Friday, an HHS official confirmed to CNN.

Barreto was placed on leave in April following reports from CNN and Media Matters that she spread conspiracies and made anti-Muslim comments. After issuing a public apology, she returned to work but was moved from her job as a deputy director of communications.

^ It's absolutely amazing how many of Trump's appointees are not only unqualified for their positions, but they're the complete inverse to them as well. One would think that someone appointed to a "communications post" would know how to (or how NOT to) communicate.

We have a new contender In the stiff competition to be the worst Trump appointee.

It’s Brian Benczkowski, confirmed last week to a pivotal position as assistant attorney general. He has almost no relevant experience for the job, unless you count passing the bar.



What he does have, as former staffer and close friend of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is the president’s ear from his prior spot on his transition team as well as ties to Russia’s Alfa Bank at a time when Russia’s assumed Most Favored Nation status in the White House.

An aide to President Trump who attended a conference frequently attended by white nationalists has reportedly left the White House.

Darren Beattie, a speechwriter and policy aide for Trump, reportedly left the White House after CNN inquired about his speaking appearance at the 2016 H.L. Mencken Club Conference. He was listed as giving a speech at that year’s conference titled "The Intelligentsia and the Right."
