McGahn was expected to leave after the election.

And so begins the next round of Administration officials fleeing...

Don McGahn out as White House counsel, sources say [CNN]
White House counsel Don McGahn's final day at the White House was Wednesday, sources say.
A White House official and a source with knowledge of the matter confirmed his departure to CNN.
McGahn has been planning to leave the White House, but a source told CNN his departure was expedited after President Donald Trump said Tuesday he had selected Patrick Cipollone as his successor.

Internal watchdog report: Interior secretary Ryan Zinke broke agency policy with wife's travel [CNN]
The Department of Interior Inspector General found that Secretary Ryan Zinke and his wife violated policy for government travel and he considered making his wife a volunteer which would have allowed her to travel for free, according to a new report.
The investigation into Zinke's alleged abuse of position found the secretary broke agency policy when his wife traveled with him in federal vehicles. The report also stated Zinke considered trying to get around agency rules by making her a volunteer at the agency, which would have entitled her to travel for free with him on the taxpayers' dime.

The Man Behind Trump's Religious-Freedom Agenda for Health Care [The Atlantic]

Meet Roger Severino, Trump's appointee for Office for Civil Rights in the Department of Health and Human Services. He's an attorney previously known for advocating for "religious freedom" and opposing LGBT rights at the Heritage Foundation.

He's married to Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network which ran ads in favor of the Gorsuch and Kavanaugh nominations to the Supreme Court.

I'm trying not to use derogatory terms about his appearance but, when I see his pictures, I just get the feeling he's going to be caught in a hotel room with a guy some day.

It just seems too often these social conservatives are working out their own issues by trying to take away the rights of others.

Not sure what the wife's issue is.

^ Take a look at Michelle Bachman and her husband the 'Contessa'.

They are so afraid and insecure about themselves that they want to eliminate any temptation.

That's another good example of the same phenomenon, isn't it?

Another one that makes my gaydar beep is Matt Schlapp of CPAC. His wife Mercedes is the White House Director of Strategic Communications (mother to five Schlappettes and BFF to KellyAnne Conway).

Meanwhile, in the swamp...

Zinke’s own agency watchdog just referred him to the Justice Department
The Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General has referred one of its probes into the conduct of Secretary Ryan Zinke to the Justice Department for further investigation, according to two individuals familiar with the matter.

Deputy Inspector General Mary L. Kendall, who is serving as acting inspector general, is conducting at least three probes that involve Zinke. These include his involvement in a Montana land deal and the decision not to grant two tribes approval to operate a casino in Connecticut. The individuals, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly, did not specify which inquiry had been referred to the Justice Department.

CNN reports Rod Rosenstein on his way to the White House.

Who's next?

Re: Trump Staff Picks and Revolving Door of Departures

Well that didn't take any time at all.

America is hurtling toward a real constitutional crisis.

I'm surprised someone hasn't edited Trump into this:

Taking Rod Rosenstein away from overseeing the Mueller investigation and appointing a GOP hack is actually the more frightening event yesterday.

A letter already went out instructing DOJ employees to preserve any and all documents related to Sessions' departure. Buckle your seat belts.

It's not just an American thing. It's a Canadian thing, too. Ontario's new premier, Doug Ford, came into power on June 29th of this year. Part-way into his 5th month, Ford has already lost 3 members of his cabinet, one who resigned to enter rehab (I still don't know what he was addicted to) and 2 others for sexual misconduct allegations.

You know, birds of a feather and all that.

First lady's office says Bolton aide 'no longer deserves the honor' of serving White House

...The eruption comes after a report by The Wall Street Journal that Trump has chosen to oust Mira Radielović Ricardel from her position at the first lady’s request.

“It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that she no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,” Melania Trump’s communication director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement directed toward Ricardel.

The first lady’s staff clashed with Ricardel during a trip to Africa last month over plane seating.
