The week before Thanksgiving, Ivanka was forced to testify in the NY fraud trial for the Trump Organization. Ivanka had lost her appeals in an effort to avoid testifying under oath.

Having to listen to how the Carters lived a wonderful, productive life. and how much they loved each other. I wonder if Melania realizes those words will never be spoken about her, or the monster she's married to.

It would be like a knife in the heart if she had one...but she entered into one of the shabbiest, mercenary partnerships in the last century...and she is probably immune to any songs of love.

I am sure the other first ladies there though could not help thinking that she will get what she deserves if her husband's assets are seized to pay for all the years of his fraud and lies.

She wasn't in it for the love of a good man, she was in it for the love of a whole lot of Benjamins - and probably citizenship. The catalog bride has been amply rewarded for her mercenary marriage. She's got her anchor baby, she's got her spa, let's see how long she can keep the cash.

Normally you wear black or dark colors to a funeral and nothing loud. Melania's coat is gray at least.

I don't think that some of you know the old rules. Ladies didn't wear white, black, or red to weddings because white was for the bride, black was for mourning, and red was too risque. That rule is purposefully being broken today even by bridal parties. Ladies started wearing white or light colored shoes, purses and hats, possibly in straw, on Memorial Day the end of May and put them away and started wearing dark shoes, purses and hats, possibly in leather or felt on Labor Day in September.

It is odd to wear a coat to an indoor service. There were older ladies in the crowd who had on scarves or sweaters over their black dresses. However, none of the other former Presidents or First Ladies were wearing coats.

Melania looked like she didn't belong, because she doesn't.

It made her look fat. Either she was wearing bullet proof padding under...or *gasp* maybe she is packing on weight...or maybe, like the Romanovs, she has sewn all her jewels into her clothing in case she has to flee at any moment.

She's 53 and she has put on weight since leaving the White House, although she still looks good for a woman that age (although a little frozen and waxen). She spends most of her time holed up in the NYC apartment in Trump Tower and she's likely discovering what many ex-Presidential families discover: they can never return to a normal life unless they choose to live away from the big cities and the paparazzi.

There is an age where A-line coats and shiny dresses aren't the best choice, though.
