The right thinks Musk will turn Twitter into a free speech paradise where they can say anything they want with no restrictions and without consequence.

Here were the largest shareholders of Twitter before Musk. Notice anything? It was already owned by the rich and powerful with certain political slants. Why would anything need to change? Musk mostly already agrees with those opinions. Look up the owners to see who already controlled Twitter.

He is being "cautioned" because he is a loose cannon. He can't be controlled except for his own ego and greed. They are fairly great levelers. He doesn’t want to be seen as a failure so he will do everything he can to grow it and profit from it. Besides people in power get “cautioned” all the time about many things. “Fortune favors the bold.”

As for “running afoul of the terms of the purchase agreement” it is a joke. The Board wants protection for themselves and other employees, but Musk always skirts the norm. This is the same Board that said they were going to poison pill the buy out agreement, to turn around almost immediately and accept the buy out. Members of the board as well as employees are mad Musk has pointed out how they stifled free speech by banning those they disagreed with. They are just wanting to save themselves from looking like fools for the 15 second people pay attention.

As for the TESLA stock it is already going back up. Stock go up or down if the right person farts. It is not a great indicator of much of anything, especially since TESLA is not the only company he owns. I am sure is has redundancy after redundancy built into his companies to whether short term stock losses. The man is a dip, but he is not an idiot.

A truly free society cannot have unlimited tolerance for intolerance. You have to draw a line or be destroyed.

You forget that most of the rest of the world has limitations on hate speech or spreading damaging lies.

Elon Musk has already been cautioned by the EU and Britain about this and I suspect that Canada will weigh in as well.
