  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Twitter has been overtaken by a narcissistic weirdo.

I read today that he's considering making Twitter a 'pay-to-link' website, not for the poster who posts the link but the website where the post is linked.

i.e. If you post a link here to a Twitter post, JUB would have to pay a fee.

Think of how many twitter posts you see. How well would that idea go over?

Yeah I saw that. It seemed to me like it was not any 'ol tweet. It said quoting or embedding tweets from "verified accounts" and I thought it had to do with tweets that were advertising or selling tweets. But I'm not sure, I could have misunderstood. It was really unclear what exactly he was talking about. It also sounds like it would be really hard to keep track of.

This goes back to who gets to decide what is wrong or a lie. You are for life time bans for people you disagree with. With no irony you automatically defend the side you like.

You talked about consequences while ignoring your own example was found liable. You are all over the place, but it all sound pretty authoritarian to me.

What do you mean who gets to decide what is wrong or a lie? There are certain things that are objectively, without question, a lie and that are wrong. Here is one: Holocaust denial, the Holocaust never happened. That statement is without question, without discussion, on its face, a lie. The Holocaust is an objective fact. You cannot equivocate an objective fact with "who gets to decide" and try to discredit the statement as just an "opinion" that you disagree with. That's what the trolls do. It's demeaning and wrong. You cannot introduce ambiguity into everything. Saying things like the Holocaust never happened, is mean, hateful, insulting, demeaning to millions of people, and to the memory of those who were murdered. But there are plenty of antisemitic hate groups saying it. So yes, people who persist in this kind of hateful rhetoric, after being warned, should be banned for life. That is "my" opinion. Not because I personally "disagree" with them, but because they are hate mongers spreading objective lies and hurting people.

I gave you a whole list of other disinformation that fall into the same category of objective, unquestionable lies. Lies that are tearing the country apart. There are plenty of people that I disagree with on things do not fall into that category, and I don't think they should be banned. But when people are telling objective lies that hurt others for personal profit, or to literally try to overthrow the government and install an authoritarian dictatorship, you have to cut them off when they say it, for the safely and security of everyone. It's not about me not liking them, it's about Twitter accepting its civic duty to suppress sedition. I've been completely consistent on that all the way through.

Just like JUB, Twitter is a private business. So is Walmart or McDonald's or any other private business. And just like JUB, they have the right to make their own rules.

How do you feel about all the JUB members who have been banned over the years for not adhering to JUB's Code of Conduct? Imagine JUB without the CoC.

Now, imagine Twitter without rules.

Twitter without rules will just be Parler.

Twitter without rules will just be Parler.

^ Of which I know nothing about.

Parler is an extreme far-Reich social media site that the Jan 6 insurrectionists used.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parler

Parler is an American alt-tech microblogging and social networking service associated with Donald Trump supporters, conservatives, conspiracy theorists, and far-right extremists. Posts on the service often contain far-right content, antisemitism, and conspiracy theories such as QAnon.

I do have to say though that over the last three months, I have got way more information and have beemn able to vent far more freely on Twitter about the invasion of the russian hordes into Europe thasn on FB...which seems to have no relevance on current events at all amny more. But I did just get a 'heads up' from Twitter when I suggested that Ukraine 'bomb the Russian fuckers to glass'.....

See, I told you so. He is going to turn Twitter into a fascist, Nazi hellhole of hate, lies, disinformation, sedition, insurrection planning, and foreign government propaganda.

But hey, it's free speech to use the public media for plots to overthrow the government. end-sarcasm

Musk says he would reverse Twitter's ban of Donald Trump

Elon Musk said he will reverse Twitter’s permanent ban of former President Donald Trump if the Tesla CEO follows through with his plan to buy the social media company.

That don’t surprise me any. He’s basically been doing the same thing with Tesla. Promising new vehicles that never come out, taking away the ability to supercharger or even fix your car. I won’t even mention self-drive.

He’s great at ideas, but not all that great at follow-thru.

Proving once again how basic he is. Anybody can have great ideas. A mobile dog cage that transports your dog to the vet when you're not home. Tobacco that tastes like feces to make people quit. T-shirts that change colors and designs. Aw shucks I don't have a father with apartheid emerald mine money to fund my endeavors. ](*,)

But he's managed to be the centre of attention on a 70+ posts JUB Hot Topics thread.

Gotta give him that.:)

He says he is now checking out the 'fake profiles'....because of course, you'd offer 44 billion dollars without doing any due dilligence, just because it seemed like a cool idea when you were stoned.

It also all smacks again of market manipulation and he watched Tesla shares drop by 40% by yesterday.

If you're going to give him a rim job cup the balls, it's only polite.

*casts spell that "Elon Musk" and "rim job" never come up in the same conversation ever again in a million bazillion years*

it's just a trick to manipulate the stocks, IMHO. He had already backed out of joining the board earlier. I KNEW he'd do something else next, and WHA, behold, looks like he's backing out again.

See a pattern here?

Omega-level insecure beta male flexing his nuts, or, according to his groupies, Tony Stark made flesh blessing and gracing the world with his limitless brilliance and boundless unmatched work ethic.
