U.S. Economy and its Mess

^ That is what some of us have been positing for months. The shutdown has been orchestrated to destroy federal government agencies and departments.

It will basically give Trump and the executive dictatorial powers.

Here ya go 'Murica.

This is what you voted for. Or didn't bother to vote against.

The thing though is...watch a of of these huge insurance companies collapse as people simply cannot afford to
have health insurance.

Watch the shareholders panic.

And Bankruptcy will once again be one of the biggest industries in the US.

Investors should be watching carefully where their fund managers are making bad bets right now. It destroyed the world economy in 2008 and it could again.

This is the time for people to be sure their money is in tangible assets and products...not on a bet against someone else's balance sheet.

This ends up looking like a way to make money disappear.

Though I met someone rich who was quite satisfied: he has a family of five, and when his family net worth reached five million, he decided that was plenty -- everything since then, that by last time I met him could have increased that five million to five times that, has gone to charity.

Watch for announcements of major carriers closing up shop this autumn and early next year as shipping for stuff from China, as well as to and from Canada and Mexico and of course within the US as a result of tariffs and consumer belt tightening...

Watch the markets this week as people adjust to the additional 100% tariffs Trump has imposed on China beginning Nov 1st.

TACO? Probably.

I thought the stock market was closed because today is a federal holiday, Columbus Day. But that's wrong. Actually, the stock market is up considerably. At this moment, Dow is +572 and Nasdaq is +452.

It seems to me they're inflating the balloon to its limits before the big explosion. When, though, is anyone's guess. But it feels like it's not too far away given what's happening. Maybe even later this week...or maybe they're shooting for the anniversary of Black Thursday, Oct 24, 1929....or not.

I seem to be picking up the message today that they already know Trump will cave or has already backed off.

Probably the Trump/Bessent insude trader cabal pocketed their gains because they knew what he was going to do and picked up some bargains.

The gains though shouldn't be over-estimated for today. This is still making up for losses on Friday.

There were also some optimistic AI-related news items (coincidentally timed) that drove tech stocks up, along with some "buy low" orders from Friday. Employment numbers keep getting revised downward. Consumer sentiment is pessimistic and we're about to head into holiday shopping season, so we'll see.

And as I mentioned before, someone(s) always get richer from Trump's tariff announcements. The economy is a rigged game...but now right out in the open.

And one of the first things that DOGE did was eliminate all of the oversight positions throughout government...
