The US regime appears to be adopting a position of irrelevance in involvement in world affairs.

The war in Ukraine has exposed TrumpCo. as being feckless, untrusworthy and ineffective in negotiating deals.

So has the war in Gaza.

I suppose when your only interest is in making deals where you get a guaranteed cut of the action, you focus on the people who will bribe you, hence the focus on the middle eastern oil states.

I get the sense that Trump has, in fact, thrown in the towel on Ukraine for now because he can't see a path to claiming success for stopping the war.

His followers care not a whit about truth or honor or Ukraine. If he were to do a 180 and go all out to protect Ukraine, they'd follow him on that, too.

He wants slavish devotion, and his slavishly devoted followers want a figurehead for anti-liberal, anti-left, anti-immigrant culture war points.

It's exactly like that like from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar where Casca relates to Brutus how Caesar had barely refused the crown:

Germany is talking of beginning to sanction Israel.

I am eager to see what Ukraine will do now that Putis is escalating the war. I suspect Ukraine has a couple plays they have held back on that they will not hold back on much longer. Just a hunch. And with Ttrump slow-rolling any actions against Russia, Ukraine will have to move out without us.
