US Withdrawal from Afghanistan

They already have been.

Isis thinks that even the Taliban are too tolerant.

Let them all have at it.

As long as the US and the west are not funding arms.
If they do, the west are still responsible ...

What about when Russia was the the country funding the conflict?

Or Iran?

Or Pakistan?

Or China?

There are trillions in minerals.

And trillions in oil access.

From Alexander the Great...and likely in the time of Xerxes and before...Afghanistan has been the graveyard of empires. They are are a hard and intractable and frankly terrifying tribe of goat fucking, tent dwelling, women hating outlaws.

We'll see, as long as the lands from far far far away stop interfering ...
Iran is neighbor !!!
Pak is neighbor !!!
China is neighbor !!!
Russia is sort of neighbor !!!

If you are jealous about minerals, why not invest and rebuild like Belt and roads projects ??

What a stupid excuse. If it's so wrong if the U.S. does it, it's wrong when China does it. Or Russia or any of the other repressive, violent, bully states [Text: Removed].

Plus the reason the mineral resources of Afghanistan aren't very well exploited is fucking obvious. The country has been in a state of internecine fighting, revolution, civil wars, or invasion for a whole lot longer than the U.S. was ever there - and they don't like China or Russia either.

This is about Afghanistan. Are russian or chinese armies in Afghanistan ? No
If you still want to control Afghanistan, why withdraw? Stay and make sure ALL the politicians relatives in the front-line this time.

Bullshit you were making ridiculous and hypocritical excuses about people interfering in Afghanistan, and now want to - once again - change the subject to something equally ridiculous.

Without bothering to address the point as usual.

If its's wrong to interfere in Afghanistan for one country, it's still wrong when someone else does it.

From Andy Borowitz

"Afghanistan is America's worst foreign policy debacle, except for Iraq, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Libya, Iran, Lebanon, and Cuba.*
*very incomplete list (space constraints)"

One approach is traditional international diplomacy.

The other is self-serving propaganda and finger wagging meant for the domestic narrative.

I don't think the phone calls between the two are for domestic audience.

Afghanistan was a proxy war with Pakistan and Saudi Arabian Inteligence Services. Proxy Wars are only lost if you quit before the other major powers quit or are not defeated. Once it was clear that bin Laden (backed by Saudi and Pakistani Intelligence) was hiding outside a Pakistani Military Base being sheltered by them we should have left Afghanistan and Regime Changed Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Problem is the Bush Admin was deep in bed with the Saudi elite with business deals and long standing family friendships so the Bush Admin never took that necessary step to defeat our real enemies.

The published reports from China were exactly for that reason. They are conveying that as the super-power, they are lecturing the US on what must happen and making it clear that China is the stronger party.

Who knows, maybe they are right.

Now let's see how China deals with the Taliban, because it is their turn.

Well at one level yes.

But it also has been a proxy war between the US and Russia, between the US and Iran and between China and the West.

At stake are trillions of dollars in minerals, the routes for oil and the heroin trade.

How could anything go awry?
