Watching Brad

Dear Neil,

Just finished reading Epilogue, part 1....

I am so very happy to continue this journey. Watching Brad has been a profound influence on me and with all the joys, sorrows and twists in their lives I have come to love each character as if part of my own family. You rock! Thank you!

^ I will probably be posting Part 2 next week, but I'm not sure when. I'm still writing it and there will undoubtedly be several rereads and rewrites until I'm happy with it. There will be a Part 3, but no Part 4.

Does this mean we should start stopping by daily to see if it's soup yet?!

J/K - maybe ...

It may - and I emphasise 'may' - be posted by next weekend, but don't count on it. I thought of an update in the middle of one of my updates and I'm working through it to fit it in properly. It would be easier to take it out, but I don't want to.

I'll let you know when to start looking.

Sorry, it's going to be a bit longer. I solved one challenge, but gave myself another challenge by becoming inspired with Baie Dankie Landscaping. It was supposed to be something simple and quick, but days went by and paragraphs grew into 4 pages of what I call unimportant, meaningless twaddle, and there is still another page or two to go on it. I had to stop, sit back, and rethink the whole thing. The main parts will still be there but in a far less descriptive and boring way.

I'll keep the best parts, of course, but I'm hoping to cut it down from something like War and Peace to Horton Hears a Who!

^ I might finish it and add it as a 'bonus'. I've spent too long on it to just erase it entirely, but it really does slow things down, and the more I write, the more I think to write. That's why it got so long.

Live and learn, I guess. As I began to think about how to turn Tolstoy into Dr. Seuss, I got to the end a lot faster and suddenly realised that it won't work. I couldn't make things fit realistically. So, a complete 'start-over' and (sorry) no bonus. It was perfect in my head, but not so perfect in words. But, I've got it all sorted out now and it works a whole lot better now, at least in my head.

You have a great head on your shoulders ... so much fun to be allowed to peek inside. ;)

Dear Neil,
I am I my second time of reading Watching Brad and I just have to write again how wonderful a story it is. You have created wonderful characters and a story that totally captivated its readers.
I just finished chapter 90, which is when Ted is awarded the twins by the judge and I must saw the story development and writing is superb! I found myself balling, uncontrollably three different times. The joy that you created in my heart for the events and how they transpired were perfection! Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing such joy into my life. It is so hard to remember that this is a story made of fictional characters.
I shall keep reading.
Bill

Neil, I’m so excited. I’m from Texas, so I only know Tim Horton’s from your story. I’m now visiting my daughter in Ohio and low and behold, her city has a Tim Horton’s. I can’t wait to go get timbits tomorrow morning. Yeah! So excited!!
Bill

^ Let me know if they write the 'brewing time' on the coffee pots down there. Up here, the time is written on the pots. After 20 minutes, any coffee left in the pot is dumped and a fresh pot is brewed. No coffee is over 20 minutes old.

Enjoy your Timbits.

Neil,
I know they do in the Rochester area. Then again, ALL of their coffee is roasted here, too.

Neil and Don,
Well I didn’t see your question until after I had left Ohio. Sorry, I don’t know if they date their coffee. I didn’t see the pot that they poured it from, but it was good coffee. And the Timbits were wonderful. I had the 20 assorted box. Loved the birthday cake and the blueberry. A salute to the DeVilliers family!

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and your trip to Tims. It's been years since I've been. (I wasn't aware the TimBits had names.) So, now you know what I've been talking about, and now you know why Brad loves apple fritters. They're my favourites, too.

And TimBits don't have any calories because they're the holes!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
