On-Topic WH Admits it Lied About All People Being Able to Keep Their Health Insurance

Obama is going to try to cover his ass this morning. I suppose he'll try to extend the pain beyond the 2014 election.

What a mess.

What idiot made up the story about this man being the smartest man in the room.

it was a Republican idea... that doesn't make it bipartisan, it makes it a bad, poorly thought-out idea ;)

Some tiny portion of it may have been thought of by a few alleged Republicans, but the statute is 2000 pages of Democrat crap, larded with 11 million words of regulations.

I thought is was 11 billion.

After the software problem is solved, there will be many more signups.

If my memory serves me correctly, former Pres. Bush (43) lied about WMD in order to invade Iraq. When the ACA problem is corrected, we'll have 30 million people more who will be insured. The nearly 5,000 dead kids that Bush was responsible for will still be dead.

what does Iraq and the failures of GWB have to do with the ACA, though?

… 11 million words of regulations.

If every single word is included (titles, tables of contents, etc.) the count is 363,086.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act equals roughly one-half of one percent of the number of words contained in the United States Code.

Bureaucracies in the Obama Administration have thus far published approximately 11,588,500 words of final Obamacare regulations, while there are only 381,517 words in the Obamacare law itself. - See more at: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/pen...macare-regs-30x-long-law#sthash.4qyv9eIv.dpuf

11 Million words is correct.

How many signup's can you do in two weeks when people are still scared that the site is not safe?

It's a much bigger mess than you can coverup with your excuses.

Lying to the American people.

and can't most of us agree that lying is bad no matter who's doing it?

if "not as bad as Bush" is the only benchmark to set for Obama, he's assured of being the greatest President of all time.

He's not, but he has done a lot, considering how much in his way the GOP has been. And so much of that has been for US. He doesn't have to be the greatest president, but he's already so far above Bush that the claim that he's the worst is laughable. And that's what Jack and been olio say.

This thread is not about GWB.

This thread is about how Obama orchestrated and created a lie about how people could keep their insurance. He knew that people would not be able to do so but created a lie and repeated it over many years. He told the lie to pass the law and get re-elected.

If Obama were the CEO of a large company in the USA he would be under investigation by the US Justice Dept.

I asked for mine to be removed -- why wasn't it removed here also?

Obama's solution : he says he will now allow people to keep their policies until after the 2014 elections i.e. the end of next year. Will enough people fall for the scam to save the Dems in Congress? I doubt it.

it's a shame the Republicans don't actually have an alternative.

I can think of a dozen reasons not to vote for Democrats, but I can't think of any why I'd vote for national Republicans.

That, if anything is where the Republicans did not capitalize on a Democratic folly. If they had a viable alternative that people liked and not just a throw away to big Pharma and the insurance companies [the most likely outcome anyways], people would actually respect them. Instead, their repeated attempts to repeal the ACA was just stupid and made them look more inept.

The amusing part is, I get to tell my coworkers next month that their premiums are going up 9%.

Republicans don't want to fully reform health care -- they are not interested in making health care a socialist system.

They're not interested in harming corporate profits you mean. They don't seem to be interested in anything constructive either. The US healthcare system DESPERATELY needs to be "socialist".

You choose to live in a capitalist country. I'm happy I was born in one.

We do not need socialism.

I'm guessing the insurance company executives that met with Obama before Obamacare was written are very mad and confused at Obama right now for his strange announcement today.

Spare us all the ignorance please. You already have HEAPS of socialism, you just plug your ears and start screaming lalalalala when confronted with that awkward fact. Also, all the countries with socialized healthcare are capitalist countries. Your point?
