Humor-Satire What are some good reasons for the United States to invade Canada?

As far as I'm concerned the only valid reason to invade is because America has not yet invented drive-thru coffee in its big cities.

You must be in the wrong place. In Oregon, there are drive-through coffee places in towns as small as 2k people!
Not to mention McDonald's in every town of any significance...

Gurl, you can get coffee at the drive-thru at McDonalds.
Dang, you beat me to it!!

Oh hell yes. Maple glazed salmon is an unforgettable delight.

Granted, I'm not the most broadly accomplished seafood eater on the planet, but anything with a candied/sweet taste on fish is just a concept I recoil from. I feel the same way about applesauce and pork chops.

Ahh well when I do it there's garlic, lemon, ginger, pepper, sesame, and a bit of soy sauce involved; it's not like Church Lady Maple Fudge at all. The maple's more of an undertone. Just the glow within the ember, so to speak.

As far as applesauce and pork chops, ehhhhhh... I'll pass.

It looks like a lemon meringue pie with crust instead of meringue. Yes?

here's the fudge, if you dare:

Oh you sweet, sweet, naive, boy - it's literally a pound of sugar, flour, Lemon, and butter with an egg tossed in so we can pretend it's custard. It's dense as uranium and so sweet my teeth are melting just contemplating it.

Every Granny and Maiden Aunt has her own, they show up at barbecues, and weddings, and church pot lucks looking all innocent and wholesome - but they are evil, and as GOD is my WITNESS I WILL NEVER EAT ONE AGAIN!!!

(Cue GWTW overture)

Really good wild smoked Salmon is sweet like candy almost. Farm Salmon is shit.

Agreed. Maple belongs on pancakes and salmon, and little else. Church lady maple fudge is an abomination.

You forget maple bars in the morning, and apples once a year.

Oh hell yes. Maple glazed salmon is an unforgettable delight.

But it's really easy to screw up. It's also better if the salmon is smoked.

Farm salmon is tolerable if you know it's farm salmon -- you just need a different recipe.

Why buy farm salmon if you know what it is? Because your food stamps won't stretch to cover the real thing.

aside: one of my dad's renters, back two decades, often couldn't make the rent -- but he was very good at catching salmon, and also very good with a smoker, so superb smoked salmon frequently appeared on our dinner table.

I did ACTUALLY picture maple syrup on the salmon, so yes, that's quite different. lol.

Actually it can also be nice on French toast. And it does not belong on bacon or sausage. You should take preventive measures to keep them apart.

Now I'm picturing someone pouring maple syrup straight on to a slab of fish like it was a pancake and that's not right.

Anyway for salmon, preferably sockeye, and I've never been a fan of smoked.

Oh! And I can't forget Tire d'érable! Toffee made on fresh snow with maple syrup. Awesome. In small quantities.

Snow? What is that, some kind of commie plot I suspect.

Oh, yes -- mustn't forget French toast!

No, but if you have leftover syrup, bacon and sausage can be employed to make sure it doesn't go to waste.
