I want to grumble and complain. Some lights came on, on the dashboard of my car yesterday so I took my car to a mechanic this morning. He called and said that I need a new catalytic converter and it would be about $2300. He said that I had replaced the other two catalytic converters before and now I need to replace this one. I thought cars had only one catalytic converter, but I found out that some cars have more and mine has three. In March I paid $2884 for repairs on my car. Even though my car is 17 years old, it is a Toyota with about 144,000 miles on it and should last longer and is much cheaper than buying a new car, but this is adding up. I could have had $5100 toward a down payment for a new car now.

The internet says a catalytic converter can cost from $300 to $2,500. My bill says:
diagnostic scan $99.95

Taxes $172.93

Just the scan to find the problem was $100 if no work had been done and I had left and went somewhere else. I don't know what the fees of $30 were, but some garages charge a fee for the use and wearing out of their tools, or it could have been to top off the oil that was lost during the work. Ohio sales tax is 8% in my county and they figured it was $172.93. All that without adding parts or labor.
 
Just checked my library account. The DVD I ordered to rot my brain out with this weekend has been shipped and should arrive at my branch tomorrow.

I'm impressed by how fast the service can be. I put a hold on Original Sin in late May. I thought it would be a long wait, but it arrived yesterday.

Montpellier is very pretty with al of the exotic plants they've planted there. We spent two days at the gay part of the nude beach and had wonderful sex.

Yesterday we all left and I took the bus to Paris to spend another day with my boyfriend, then today I traveled to my friends in Antwerp, where I was immediately surrounded by orthodox Jews.

Staying a day or two more.

Finishing up my taxes before the Monday deadline, and out to mow some grass today while it is still sunny.

Then out to dinner tonight with my partner...for liver and onions.
 
Finally getting the chance to do laundry and clean my home in preparation for the new dog that i'm getting
 
yay.

I have filed our taxes for another year and off to mow the orchard.

Maybe a nap a little later would be nice.
 
Last night brought a dream about me performing oral sex on myself. It was disapointing waking up, and realizing it had only been a dream--this is not something I could actually have any hope of doing. And the further disappointment: this dream is probably as close as I'll ever get to having oral sex... :cry:

I just brought in the laundry that was drying outside. I'll have to figure out what the next load of laundry will be. It's probably a battle between two different crises "I'll need soon!" loads.
 
I just put a couple of library holds on DVDS to rot my brain watch this weekend. I went back a few minutes later to check on something and found one of the DVDs has already been pulled for shipping. Wow, that was fast.

It's possible, of course, that the DVD was checked out and happened to be checked in, which would probably flag the item as "on hold." But that is probably unlikely, even on an item with regular demand.
 
I was just watching the light rain falling on the deck. The wet wood with raindrops falling in little puddles, the green grass and the bushes from next door has a beauty to it. I found it soothing and relaxing.
 
A day editing a report and managing other projects.

We visited the offices today..which are largely unloved and empty now that I only use contracted consultants who work
internationally.

And now...salivating as my partner prepares a sausage,sauerkraut and friend potatoes dinner.
