  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2026

Not sleeping. Not bothered.

Same here.

Tomorrow my standard introductionary first day of working at The Keukenhof.

Not sure if I actually have to be there, because the function I applied to didn't require it, but then they claimed not to have any hours in that function. They invited me for the introduction dat, but that may have been standard.

It's always a bit of a mess.

Looking at a foot of snow still on our lawn and gardens...I would love to work at the Keukenhof as spring arrives....

It's wonderful.

I'm having my French boyfriend and our German-Kyrgyz friend over for the flower pageant and to the park on my days off, so they can both experience it for the first time.

The parade passes my mother's house -where I live- so we will stay there that night.

My boyfriend has never seen the Keukenhof, our friend will see The Netherlands for the first time.

My boyfriend had a spot in his throat and got chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He got IV nutrition and fentanyl plasters. He first he looked like Bert Kreischer, then he looked more like Picasso.

He's recovering now.

I wonder what will happen this festival. Will I be asked to look after the cats in Amsterdam again? That will be unfortunate but it might mean the mistake that I made last time by taking home someone I should 't have remained undetected.

I will be doing dishes at Keukenhof mostly this season.

propped up in bed and resting still...the worst of the wracking coughing is now over, but I lose a lot of sleep during the night and wake up exhausted.

It also allows me to bunk in with Mizzy in the front part of the second floor to keep her compamy while she is isolated from her Sister.

My mother has migrated from a cat lover (last can died around the time my late love did) to Granny from Tweety & Sylvester.

Birds are fed ever more decadently in this country with it's preposterously soft winters, but cats now have health insurance.

My sister will go on a world trip April 4th and I might actually be able to spend a few unhinderd nights/weeks on the town (Amsterdam), although of course, I hope she manages to rent it out for the money.

Just home from a very weird dinner with the work bosses. A husband and wife team and a coworker. We went to a dive bar in town, had really good food and the weirdest conversations ever.

Back from the grocery store. Recently, they've had several boxes like this in produce:

I'm not sure if it's for St. Patrick's Day, or because Vannie is in town.
