  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention What are you having for dinner?

^I wonder if hard cider is cider that gets hard after it's been watching porn...

So my partner made a huge batch of ginger cookies on Sunday.....mmmmm

We often will serve these as dessert with homemade ginger or vanilla ice cream.
Nice. :)

I used to make them homemade using ground ginger and crystallized ginger.

I just came home from lunch with my mom. We went to the diner and I had the daily special, a huge stuffed pepper, mashed potatoes, carrots, coleslaw and cream of broccoli soup. I’m stuffed more than the pepper was.

My favorite meal. Northern white beans cooked with a few ham hocks and served with cornbread and crisp bacon.

We're still working on that batch of chili I made. Best batch yet.

I'd like some tamales. HEB had some Mexican brands of a dozen in husks that were pretty good. Refrigerated, over by things like bacon and chorizo. That was a couple of years ago. Someone (not me) bought a package of HEB brand tamales and yeah, they were edible but not tasty. What's with the nutmeg and allspice flavors? And where's the meat? For real, perhaps three teaspoons of meat in a tamale twice the size of a normal tamale.

Might as well eat cornbread. And here's my idea. Brown off some hamburger meat and mix it into a batch of cornbread. Call i Baked Tamales. Not the entire pound, just a cup or so. Cut a slice, big pat of butter (not enough to lube the entire baseball team) :) and chili on top.

I might find some shredded pork in the freezer. I might open a can of Keystone canned pork.

Tomorrow's project.

I'd best stay away. I love me some Whoppers. Milk Duds are good, too.
All kidding aside. We bought several huge bags from Amazon that had very mini wrapped candy.

Hershey bars.
Peanut butter cups.
Kit Kats
Rolo's
Whoppers
Milk Duds

My neighbors kids told me the most popular candy is Sour Patch kids, Skittles and Starburst. Not sure how true that was. They might have played me to get what they liked.

So I just bought 4 pounds of those to mix into this huge plastic catering bowl. Hopefully we will get enough Trick or Treaters this year. I can remember my Mom painstakingly filling little bags to make sure everyone had one of everything. I just grab a couple big handfuls for them. If a costume is especially awesome I will add extra.

Haven't had them with the spicy sauce. They sound wonderful.

I can remember in the 70s people calling one another Momo's as a derogatory term, but jokingly. I think it's like Moron or something.
