Attention What are you having for dinner?

I had made a small casserole of cauliflower au gratin with a bechamel and gruyere cheese and crunchy topping of seasoned breadcrumbs.

So I grilled a NY strip steak and made a quick tomato salad with red onions.

Early dinner.
Omg that sounds delicious

I'm making a late supper of pasta with peas and a very simple tomato sauce.

Lunch

Chicken and rice with black beans. Was good.

Last night, I had a Saffron Road Vegetable Biryani frozen dinner. My microwave died recently (may it rest in peace). Frozen dinners now get thawed in a covered pot on a burner with a bit of water. Probably not ideal--especially when I miscalculate the water (too much, and it becomes soupy, too little and the pot can be hard to clean). But it's interesting that I think this particular dinner works better this way than I recall from the times I used the microwave. (That said, a different microwave might be better than both. My microwave was a rock bottom when new microwave, which I got used at Goodwill.)

I'm guessing--but only guessing--I'll be having dinner for dinner.

And even with smart-ass comments like this, I wonder why I have difficulty making friends...

A very boring chicken sandwich. Some leftover Costco Rotisserie Chicken on sour dough bread with mayo.

But now it is time for ice cream!

Chicken tenders (chicken strips) from the local grocery store deli, a Honeycrisp apple, and a slice of pumpkin roll cake with cream cheese filling with some whipped cream (from a squirty can) on top.

mmmm...we cooked off half of ours for Ragout....but the yellow tomatoes are definitely the best this year.

I made 2 bacon double cheeseburgers and homemade shoestring french fries and a chocolate shake in the blender.

I put the French fries in a cute little red and yellow paper container and wrapped the burgers in yellow paper with something or other written on it.

All homemade. All true. I swear it.
